Kjell emerged from the ladderwell, wishing to switch her current lodgings for a place with a bath. She was carrying her backpack and the rifle and she’d moved her axe to her right hip next to the sword to make room for the new pistol, for which she’d fashioned a thigh holster on her left. The holsterless pistol formerly owned by the wizard was just tucked into her belt.
She saw the storm rolling in and the three conspirators on the deck. Her feet carried her over to them even if her first instinct had been to go past. Sighing, she ran her hand through her hair as she thought of how best to present this. “Hi,” she said when she finally got to them. She appeared mostly sober, though by now, dark circles had began to form under her eyes. “We have a problem. The summoner that sent us the shrimp, I saw him in town and shot a hole through his chest.”

“I can’t help but notice you didn’t say, ‘I killed that summoner.’ So I assume he’s still alive Somewhere?” Konrad asked.

“It was the same one? How odd...if the storm wasn’t coming I would wonder if he was trying to lure us to this island for something...” Justine postulated. She knew a little bit about how one might not die even with a mortal wound.

"He..." she rubbed the back of her neck and inspected Konrad's boots, "...drained about a dozen people of blood, got better and flew into the jungle." She tried not to picture the exsanguinated corpses every time she blinked but it was kind of like trying to not think about pink elephants. "Before that, he said he is after what our employer is after, and that he'll take it from us when we get it. He has friends. Other casters, I think."

Konrad nodded at Justine's proposition which seemed reasonable enough. When Kjell responded, all the color drained from his face, and and stared at the elf shooter with sudden intensity.
"I'm sorry... did you say he...drained them of blood?"

She finally lifted her gaze to look Konrad in the eye. "Uh-huh," she said.

“I need to see one of those bodies,” he said urgently, “where were you when this happened? Can we go now?”

Justine’s voice went flat as she spoke. “Drained of blood, you say. Very curious.” She did not seem particularly curious.

Kjell frowned at the thought of going back. This was literally the last thing she wanted to do right now. "It was a while back now, an hour or so. I don't know if they're still there," she said. Or had it been longer? "Why do you need to see them?"

“When my parents were killed, they were found drained of all blood, with no visible marks. I need to see if perhaps it is the same thing, in which case this Summoner may know something.” He said. He turned to Justine and Ceuntide, “I’m sorry, but I’m sure you understand.”

Ceutinde shook her head. "It's fine. That's certainly pressing. Just get back here before the typhoon blows in, it's going to be dangerous out there."

"Alright. If someone up there recognises me, there might be trouble," she warned them, and looked at the clouds. "We have maybe an hour before my guns are useless."

“Ceutinde, I think I want to see what this is like for myself. See if it’s...familiar at all. Would you mind finding us a place? I don’t like the looks of the waves...and it’s not even that bad yet.” She gestured toward the sea, which had grown grey and was already beginning to move beneath the vessel.
“Pull up your hood, maybe? It’s worked for me a time or two,” Justine suggested to the gunslinger elf. “By the way, I’m Justine. Good to meet you...?”

"Yes, I'll find somewhere on dry...well, dryer, land for us to stay the night. And send a message back here as to where. Let me just grab a few things." Ceutinde started to turn toward the ladderwell before stopping herself and asking with a suggestive eyebrow raised, "Three rooms? Four? Or just the one and we can all keep each other warm through the storm?"

She looked at Justine and nodded at the introduction. "Kjell," she said. She blinked at the suggestion, not sure how helpful a hood would be, seeing as the pirates had already gotten a good look at her, her clothes and equipment. Then again... they had walked off without checking if she'd follow and had thought it reasonable to venture into the jungle in the middle of a storm. She pulled up her hood just in time for Ceutinde's offer. "One with a bath for me would be great, thank you," she said.
