Someone built an actual zoo here. From the looks on the faces of the locals asked about it...it’s better to just take it at face value.

Tehol wonders about aimlessly on the island, until he meanders his way to the zoo, his logic being that hopefully seeing some other animals being happy would help him take his mind off of K'rull. (Spoiler Alert. It won't. At All.)

A dwarf approached him, holding a riding crop and wearing ridiculous red leggings. He looked like a pedophilic Christmas elf. “Why the long face? Ye look like yer woman just left ye fer another man that other other man beat yer ass on the way out!”
Tehol saw tigers and lions and more, and a cage in the back held a two foot long two headed beast with two clubbed tails and a lion’s body. The cages around each animal are small but none of the animals are actually life sized. “Well Isaak ain’t holdin’ being cuckolded against ye! The animals make everyone feel better!”

Tehol looks at the little man. "My pet died." He says simply. "These little one's do not seem too happy here." He says looking around at the small animals without any room to grow and be free.

“They’re animals,” the man said. “And that island ain’t gonna treat’em right either. Old Isaak buys them off the criminals comin’ off the ships soes they don’t end up in no stew pot.” He shook his head. “You ever seen a rea chimera? Or a Eastern Sand Wyrm?”

"TEHOL, MY BOY!" Archimedes snuck up on the lad, followed by his assistant carrying his suitcase. "What a surprise to find you here! Well, not really. With all the stuff that happened with old K'rull, I guessed you would come around looking for a new friend-o to make you company."
"Again, I'm not sure if I told you this already, but I'm so sorry about what happened..." He rested a caring hand on Tehol's shoulders. "That Nigel will pay for what he did, this is hardly the first of his misdeeds. He has had it coming for decades, sooner or later reckoning will catch up with his."
"Not great to keep these animals like this, sir. It is also false advertisement, given this is by far the worst Safari I have ever seen." Archie said, looking over at the dwarf. "Oh, I'm sorry. I realize I must be interrupting something here."

Tehol gazes around him at the animals with more sorrow, "No, which ones are they?" He comments, "Such sad creatures." He adds muttering to himself.
"And where would Isaak be anyway? Or are you the only one seeing to them at the moment."

There’s a storm fitting to brew this evening so you’ll pay premium to go to the mainland. And I don’t guarantee no safety from whatever we see out there.”

Tehol looks at the dwarf who had literally just referred to himself as 'Old Isaak' just a second ago then turns to the Doctor, "There is no replacing K'rull, thanks Nigel and that shrimp of yours Doctor." Tehol says slightly angrily. "It was your experiment we where trying to protect that I've been hearing got the final blow in."

"Well, sir, then I wish to make a reservation for this proper safari of yours. One for me and one for my dear assistant over there." Archie said not really caring about the mentioning of an incoming storm, he had probably weathered worse. Looking to his side, the professor once again was faced by Tehol's angry semblance.
"Lad, I couldn't imagine that would happen to poor K'rull, I will forever remember what both of you did for me and my experiment." The old man looked gloomily towards the grown, appearing really ashamed of what had happened. "Let's take one of these tours, lad. On me... I know K'rull is irreplaceable, but maybe getting to see these beauties in the wild will get your mind off of him."

"It was an unfortunate series of events." Tehol says shaking his head, "It would be better to see the animals in their natural habitat." He adds softly.

Isaak ribbed His hands together with glee. “Yes yes, that’ll be twenty gold coins please for the pair of you. Hope you all can defend yourselves. Asanar ain’t for the weak.” He narrowed his eyes. “Meet me at the docks in one hour. I got to get me ship ready.”

"I gather that Ms. Melchior won't have to pay for her seat in the tour. Am I correct? As you might see, she is a minor. So i expected for her ticket to be at least half off..." Archie waved his intern over. "She will also deal with the whole financial part of this... I am too old to count pennies."
As he turned to leave, the professor was faced with a particularly depressing specimen in a tiny cage. He could imagine that it wasn't being fed any close to properly, and it surely packed intelectual stimuli.
"Have you ever considered... Well... You know... Given them a proper treatment?" Archie inquired, staring sadly at the animal and thinking how he would give them a better."Or quitting the whole menagerie thing. I'm sure you could turn a better profit with just the tours and not having the expenditure of these cages. Not that I think you must spend much on them as they are, because you clearly don't. "

Isaak looked offended but he collected the gold from a flustered Sabrina. “Be quick now! I’ve a shelter on the island but we got to make it there before we all get swallowed by some monster or killed by the natives!”

"Let's go, my dears!" Archie said, laying a hand on the shoulders of both his companions. "Adventure awaits!"
