Archelaus let out a slow breath as he pondered how to respond. “Your employer and I are after the same thing. I’m going to let you al get it then rob you blind,” he said merrily. “Or perhaps you’ll prove amenable to assisting me when the time comes.”

She leaned back in her chair, just a little. "Why on earth would I do that?"

“Because you have met me. Aren’t I pleasant?” He asked. “Knowing Searshe I doubt she even came to you personally. Not that I blame her of course.” He took another bite. “Seriously eat something. You elves got fine figures to maintain that your mushrooms or whatever just don’t contribute to.”

The intense conversation was interrupted by bizarre sight and sound of Nigel Thornheart running down the street, kicking in the door of the weaponry shop in view of the cafe, and loudly declaring "I need to purchase all the glitter bombs that you have!" like it was a life or death medical emergency. He had apparently run out.

The strange weapon merchant looked at the man. “That’ll be fifty silver.” He hands him a small box of what are hopefully only glitter bombs. But who would ever check that?

Nigel had certainly never mixed the two up and the lack of allegations due to ironclad nondisclosure agreements proved it.
"Thank you, my good sir!" he said in the same thunderously loud tone before throwing him the money and departing with his crate full of first impressions.

"She was smart not to," Kjell said. Whoever she was. The last thing she needed was another one poking around in her head. Her eyes darted between the food and the wizard and she opened her mouth to tell him where to shove that suggestion but was distracted by the ruckus caused by that buffoon from the other ship. She waited until it was over with.
"I'm out of questions," she then announced. "Hope you don't mind the fall." That was a lie, she didn't really care.
She went for her gun and attempted to blast him off this rock.

Kjell’s pistol erupts and both barrels unload onto the wizard at point blank range. The sound echoed across the rocky village and drew plenty of attention. The smoke clears after a moment and Archelaus was still seated, his shirt ruined, hot lead making steam out of his blood as it ran from his two gaping wounds. “God damn that hurt.” He snapped his fingers as he bled out and Kjell heard a sickening sucking sound coming from all around her. Her server and the people in the tables nearby screamed and a river of blood ripped out of their skins and poured back into Archelaus’s body. In a second or two the wound had stitched up. “You ruined my steak,” he said. He leaned back in his seat and fell backwards off the railing, and a few seconds later Kjell saw a raven flying away.

Kjell sat there, nailed to her seat as she observed the streams of blood flowing into the wizard. Her vision became distorted, as if she was looking at him through an exceptionally bad spyglass. The sickening sound melded with the blood rushing in her ears and stayed there after he’d consumed the last drop. That was... a lot of screams.
She didn’t fully register him falling but by the time she spotted the raven, she’d regained enough of her senses. The arquebus was already off her shoulder when she got to her feet. She aimed, breathed out, and took the shot.

The shot goes wide and the wizard flies toward the mainland portion of the island. A couple armed pirates are heading up to see what the hell just happened. Seeing will not make anything make any more sense.
If it helps, the wizards bloody clothes are down at the bottom of the cliff, and the pistol he had had is still sitting in the table.

She looked after the fleeing raven if only to give herself a moment before facing the damage done. She put her rifle away, took a deep breath and turned around. One, two, three, four...
She walked to the table, holstered her own gun and tucked the wizard’s pistol into her belt. Five, six, seven... She felt nauseous looking at them. She stepped over what used to be the waitress, picked up a bottle of whiskey from the next table and drank deep. Wiping her mouth on the back of her hand, she stepped past the child and his parents. Her hand shook now, the one that wasn’t holding the bottle, so she balled it into a fist.
She counted thirteen total, though she probably missed a few. She stepped to the street and turned towards the docks, glancing at the armed men to see if they were going to stop her.

They definitely seem interested in figuring out why the island’s only family friendly cafe wasn’t serving Happy Meals anymore. She could run all the way around the giant rock maybe but with how the village is formed she’d get lost almost certainly. The lead pirate has a crossbow and his compatriots have melee weapons drawn. “Stop there a second!” He called out. “What kind of witchcraft you fone here?!”

She stopped. “Wasn’t me,” she said, and turned to look at the crime scene. Except it kind of was, a voice in her head helpfully chimed. She cleared her throat. “He said his name was Archelaus. His clothes are there, at the bottom or the cliff.”

One of the pirates runs to the server’s body and sobs loudly as he cradled it. Two men grab Kjell and go to Chuck her off the rock but the gunsmith speaks up. “She’s telling the truth. Were some man stalk in’ her and she got him point blank. I saws the whole thing.”
The men look uncertain now and release her. “Well then..where the fuck did he go?” The lead pirate asked.

She pointed in the direction of the mainland where he’d flown. “He turned into a raven, I think,” she said.
