Justine licked her lips, the iron tang of the pirate’s blood barely registering as she cut his comrade down to size and eliminated him from this plane of the living. She wiped her face with the back of her hand, merely smearing the gore more on her pale skin, and moved forward toward his fleeing companions. And she laughed. “Good show!” Konrad yelled to her, before chasing down one of the pirates and hoping to score some results of his own.

Chasing them down the narrow gangplank in the blowing winds and blinding rain takes al of Konrad’s focus but he slides down the last dozen feet and engages with a fighter.
Konrad: 155/99/q144/defense 144 Man: 122/130
The noble duelist deals two swift hits and parries the enemies return blow, his magically enhanced blade cutting deeply into the criminals side.

The card players go back to their game, where one of he men had managed to swipe a few of his opponents’ chips, and Kjell draws a bead on a pirate rushing toward the fray. One shot and he won’t walk straight again. She goes to reload and then sees two of the grey robes weirdoes coming down the pathway toward her. Their eyes are flashing a strange greenish color she hadn’t seen in Archelaus. She also sees a sinuous, swift moving serpent made of some sort of gas gliding through the air behind them. It’s a better than even bet that it isn’t friendly.
Konrad finished his opponent off as Justine caught up to him. Damien picks his dead pockets without even breaking stride as they see gunmen lining the higher trails, sheltered under awnings and too high for most weapons to hit. They’re pouring fire into the nearby Tranquility.

Seeing as her companions clearly didn't need help, Kjell finished reloading the arquebus and shot at one of the approaching goons instead. The gas serpent was going to be... problematic.

Justine kept going, slicing and dicing as they got closer to the ship. They really needed a caster right about now. She wondered if Thalia or Elise would be able to see the men firing from the cliff.

Konrad kept pace with Justine, fighting side by side.
OOC: attack nearest pirate. If none is available this round, cast Strategos’ strong arm on Justine instead.

Damien not exactly excited to follow along after the other attackers turns to retreat to Kjell's position. When he spotted the wizards and the snake he tries to blend into the shadows and move closer covertly while putting together his cross bow. He will creep up closer and take a shot out of the darkness when he thought he could hit.

Kjell (-30 for hurricane): 129/134 defense Damien (-30): 79
Jade Serpent: 129/122
Kjell fires at one of the wizards and clips his arm. His no doubt vulgar reaction is swallowed by the hurricane’s winds. His pet serpent rushed toward the elf and Damien and lashed out like a cobra, luminescent fangs blurring with the speed of its assault. Kjell and Damien are both just as fast however and the thief rolls to his left as Kjell leaps up and grabs a support beam and kicks her legs out forward to leap over its strike.
Justine and Konrad make it to the rocky beach where the pier begins and they see the main thrust of the attack is coming from the other side. Nigel can be seen pointing his cannon at the pirates to unleash hell when they get past the tavern but both ships are taking inaccurate but still dangerous pot shots from the snipers on top of the rock. Justine feels a sudden surge of power as Konrad boosts her strength.

Perhaps it was the adrenaline or the bloodthirsty thrill of fighting and winning, but Justine had yet to realize that Kjell and Damien had been left behind. She surveyed the beach quickly, weighing their options against the snipers and helping the others in their party. The wind was tugging at her skirt and whipping it around her legs, so she gathered it and made a knot in the material just above her knees. She’d be able to run now.
She leaned in to Konrad and pointed toward the tavern where she could just barely make out Ceutinde and the Skylark emerging. “There!” she shouted to him over the sound of the roar of the storm. “We run!”
Without another second thought, that’s what she did.

Konrad hurried after her without a second thought, and muttering a few prayers against the bullets sent from the snipers.

Shots from the above shooters crack off the rocks as they sprint and Justine is cut very slightly by a piece of rock shrapnel that cuts her calf. Konrad heard Little Nigel bark out shots and heard but couldn’t see their impact. They make it near the tavern in time to see more people running behind the place to enter.
They also saw a strange sort of light coming out of the windows but that couldn’t be anything bad.

Konrad gestured to Justine that they should go around the rear of the tavern and come at the attackers from behind.

Kjell: 131/119/90/128 Damien: 138
Jade serpent: 109/155/129
The Least Phase Serpent, as Archimedes would explain in his obnoxious way, is a being existing almost exclusively in the Astral plane, and as such essentially immune to conventional weapons or tactics. However, he would add with his single raised finger, in order to attack in our realm the beast has to transfer portions of its essence to the mortal realm in order to interact, and those brief moments enable it to be struck.
Kjell and Damien would think a Least Phase Serpent sounds like an exceptionally shitty tavern name, and have no idea as to why the god damn thing seems so strange. As it s fangs bite into Kjell’s leg however, Damien does find his crossbow is able to hurt it as a bolt lodged into its flesh just behind its ear. Kjell feels a sharp bite of pain as its strange venom enters her bloodstream but she unloads her full fury onto its exposed head and cracks it’s skull. It’s alive but definitely wounded.
Serpent takes 77 damage Kjell takes 21 damage and is bleeding one health a round due to a blood thinning poison

Kjell didn’t even flinch at the bite; the venom felt unpleasant, but she’d deal with it later. She shoved the pistol back in its holster and drew her sword and axe. “Come on, you fucker,” she grunted, circling the serpent and waiting for it to attack before hacking away at it. That’s how it seemed to work, anyway.

Comte-in-Exile Damien did wince when Kjell was bit. He said, "What the fuck is that? It is not natural." He looked toward the exit. There were eight different routes he could slip into and hide from this fell beastie. He sighed and looked back at the creature. He could not just abandon a friend like that. He raised the crossbow and fired again. He also tried to stay as far back and shoot that mother. He called out to the elf woman, "I suppose this makes us friends. If I die... and you kill it... just tell everyone I got it with my dying blow."
