Kjell hadn’t actually noticed Damien join her, having been preoccupied with aiming and such. She smiled a little at his words, not that he could see it. “Get out of here,” she called without taking her eyes off the serpent. “I’ll be right behind you.”

Damien looked at her and instantly did not believe her for some reason. He chuckled and replied, "You go first. I will be right behind you." IF she did run, he would follow. He was not a snake charmer, he was a thief.

Kjell: 144/122/150/99 Damien: 139
Serpent: 85/170 (critical hit)
The serpent feints in its ethereal state toward Kjell then leaps right through her and becomes corporeal as soon as it’s tail slides through her, its jaws clenching around Damien. It’s a wound that would be fatal we’re it not for the master thief’s speed. Even so Kjell heard two ribs break from the assault. Damien sees red and fires his crossbow directly into its eye as the elf has three full seconds of uninterrupted wrath to unleash on the serpent, which screams as it dies, dissolving into a small red and green opal looking jewel.
Kjell loses 1 health Serpent dies Damien takes 22 points mortal and bleeds 1 mortal a round until treated

Damien falls down atop of the jewel holding his wounds. “Curse the Lady Luck. It was supposed to attack you.” He yelled at Kjell. “You look much more appetizing then myself. I am just stringy muscle.” He cursed and without even thinking about slipped the jewel into his pocket. “I think I am going to die.”
