Silvia smiled as the people thanked her. "Come on, let's get you all out of here before he breaks his word and blows us all to smithereens. If you have belongings, grab them quickly. I'll ask my friends if you can travel with us if you want to get away from this place."

The captives cheer and head towards the store rooms to get food and drinks. They look half starved in some cases.

Silvia ran upstairs and spotted her companions. "Justine! Nigel! What are you doing here?"

Justine looked shocked to see everyone streaming out of the basement...followed by Silvia. She relaxed her grip on the swords and dropped out of an attack stance.
“We came to rescue you. But I guess you handled it....” She looked a bit disappointed.

Silva grinned and bowed with a flourish. "I appreciate it but rescuing people in need is my speciality."
She decided not to mention the small matter of not quite knowing how she had ended up at the brothel in the first place. One minute she was running, the next minute she had arrived.
""The problem now is in deciding how to help those poor people. They'll need to find new lives for themselves."

Justine looked at the former prostitutes as they helped themselves to the food and drink that had been kept from them. “I’m not sure. Ceutinde had wanted to help them as well. Maybe they just stay here for the moment and we can discuss a plan with her and Captain Demeter.”

“We can’t stay here!” One cried. “There are more ships! More pirates!”

Silvia frowned. "Is there any place on this island that's safe? Could you hole up there while the matter is discussed?"

“Not even for an evening until the storm blows over? We barely have enough beds as it is...” Justine wanted to help but wasn’t sure if they would be able. It would be a shame if these poor wretches went right back to a miserable life...a different one but still miserable.

“Well, of course the storm has to blow over,” a woman said, “but once you guys leave please take us with you...we’ve got plenty of rooms here so you don’t need to sleep on a ship in a hurricane, and alcohol and hot food!”

It was very tempting, but...
“We also have cannons on the ship.”
Justine looked to Silvia and Nigel for input and also wondered where Konrad had gotten to.

"One moment, please." Silvia smiled reassuringly at the former slaves. She drew Justine and Nigel aside.
"We have to take them. It's the right thing to do. We'll ask Captain Demeter where we can set them ashore. I'm sure there's some port not too far away that we can make for. Even if it's a diversion, we have to do it. Besides, we'll have friends for life, this way. And..." She thought of the element that would appeal to Nigel in particular. "It will only add to our fame to rescue the needy. Just think, we came out here on one mission and ended up as heroes for a completely different reason."

Konrad reappeared as quickly as he had disappeared.
“Sorry. Lag is bad on this server,” he said, before thinking about what Silvia proposed. “I agree they can’t remain here. I think if Ceuntide is willing, sending them back to Bastion on the Tranquility is the best bet. Plus she’ll know how best to... reintegrate them back into society.” He couldn’t imagine that recently freed slave was great for the job prospects.

Nigel had clearly spoken early when he jested about juggling women and herding cats, suddenly finding himself with an entire brothel full of recently enslaved sex workers to deal with.
"They can stay on the Tranquility," he volunteered Ceuntide's as this whole catastrophe seemed to be her idea and he assumed the madame was better equipped for handling this many prostitutes at once than he was...at least in this particular manner. "Attention whores!" Nigel bellowed, which may be his only volume. "Come with me if you want to live!" He then led the procession of free women to the Tranquility like he was the pied piper of prostitutes.

“Nigel, the tranquillity is not really a great place to be right now. The storm’s shaking it up like a tambourine. Maybe we really ought to consider staying put.” She glanced around at Konrad, who had very definitely been there the whole time. “Could be a lot more comfortable...”
“Oh, and get the beast taming guy to come look in on the croc.”
