“Oh, Of course,” he agreed immediately. He wouldn’t mind some time alone to talk with Justine while the others slept. Much had happened since their little “date” at the brewery, and it needed some discussion.

"Excellent. Get some sleep and I'll wake you both in a few hours." She looked for something to drink and a chair. A glass of wine was exactly what she needed.

Justine stood up, nodding her understanding to Silvia. She suddenly looked nervous. It was very unlike her. She pitched her voice low and leaned toward Konrad slightly. "Do you ummm...want to get some sleep?"

"Do you ummm...want to get some sleep?" “Yes, that would seem fitting, it’s been a long night,” Konrad stood and stretched. “Can I escort you to your quarters?” They hadn’t exactly worked out who would sleep where, but there was no shortage of beds as one of the girls had explained.

"I would expect no less." She grinned at him and impulsively took his hand, leading him up the stairs toward one of the empty rooms. She peeked inside one after another until she found one that seemed decently clean and less...well-used.
She paused at the door, turning back to look up at him. "Do you want to come in? I could look after that wound. You know, make sure it doesn't get any worse."

Justine let him in and pulled back the covers on the bed. The sheets weren't too awful, but she wouldn't like to stay for more than a night or two. She unbuckled her swordbelt and started looking for something else to wear or a clean bit of linen to wrap herself in.
"Aha!" She found both, and tossed a sheet to Konrad. "Now we can sleep dry and cozy!" She turned her back and started stripping off her wet things, draping them over a chair to dry. Although much of her modesty had been stomped out of her in the asylum, she figured he would either turn his back or get the idea.

He kept the sheet and inhaled slightly As he turned around. It smelled cleaner than anything else in this town had a right to.
“The wizard I interrogated told me something interesting,” he said, nonchalantly, “mentioned a name I didn’t expect him to know.”
He heard a noise and turned this head slightly, catching the outline of her back in the corner of his eye.

"Oh, is that where you had got to? What did he say?" Her long black hair, damp and tangled, fell forward over one shoulder as she kicked off her damp shoes and tugged off her sodden stockings. She wrapped the sheet around her body like a toga when she had finished and turned around again. "Is it someone I would know?"

He turned around, and his jaw dropped slightly as he saw her standing there hair damp, in but a sheet she had found.
“Ah... yes. I believe so,” he struggled to recover his wits. “ He said the name, ‘Eustace’ and to tell him when I saw him that his ‘guests’ waited to host him.” He sighed, reached out and took Justine by the hands. “I believe that can only have been Eustace Lockhart. Somehow these wizards that attacked us... they have something to do with the Asylum.”

The hopeful look in her eyes was replaced by a scowl. “That place will follow me all of my days, won’t it? Yes, it would make sense that it would be him. Cruel and thoughtless man that he is...” She looked up at him again. “I have to tell you something. It might be related.” She leaned in and whispered in his ear. When she leaned back again, she looked a little worried and searched his face for any sign of disapproval.

Both of us, tormented by the same people, and now we find they have some hand in this adventure!” He smiled broadly and hugged her impulsively. “This may be our chance!” He said excitedly, “I am sure together we can get to the bottom of it.”

That hadn’t been the reaction she expected, not at all, but she would absolutely take it. “I’m not surprised. I feel like there are ulterior motives at work here. There’s a reason we were chosen for this.” She let him hug her and threw one arm around his neck. “Together we can...” She stood on her toes and boldly kissed him.

While he had been perhaps reluctant to initiate clearly the kiss did not throw the young lord off any, and he returned her kiss with equal, and then increasing ardor. “I have been thinking about doing that since before Thornheart interrupted us at drinks!” He said, when he at last came up for air.

“Maybe you should have,” she said a bit breathlessly. “When you dispatched the pirates...your swordplay was excellent. If you had done it then, well, I don’t think I’d have let you run off after Thornheart again.” She laughed and put her other arm around his neck, letting their two bodies together keep the sheet in place around her. “I’m just grateful you don’t seem to mind my...my flaws.”
