Damien shook his head at her words, "Paladins and soldiers... they are all the same. The world is so much more interesting then they allow it to be. They got lauded for murdering scores at the command of some lord. A lord that they cannot even choose to follow. They all commit atrocities and if you asked them why they would just say duty.That is no acceptable answer to such a question. I am the outlaw because I steal property while they feed other men and woman to the butchers. It is disgusting." He shook his head sadly.
He looked down at her hair, "IF you want to learn how to set your hair on fire travel with a circus. I have seen three woman and one man light themselves on fire. They can spit and juggle flames as if they were simple balls. It is apparently not so difficult a trick with the right alchemist supplies, but it is beyond me. I am quite hot enough thank you."

Damien shook his head, "You are wrong. Do not get me wrong... I fucking love my fame. That is not the thrill that gives my days meaning though. It is just a pleasant reward for being the most amazing man ever born." He bowed to her deeply, just like that taught him back in the capital. "You are lucky to bask in my presence really."

Of that I am quite confident. So I will make an offering to lady luck this evening to that her for joining our two paths."

I knew from a child what my calling is, and I gave up a luxuriant and easy life to steal baubles from idiots." He smiled deeply, "And I do not regret it at all." "Of course Annie. I will treat you the exact same way I treat all my friends. I will be open, honest and gallant." Damien bowed to her, "Do not worry though. I know most people are not as capable as myself so I have long learned to make allowances for them. I just happen to be the best at friendships, thievery and lawn bowling. Though that third talent does not quite come up that often." He looked around suddenly, "I doubt this island even has a lawn."

She laughed. "Lawn bowling? Now that's not sometehing that gets disscussed often. Even I have never played that. It seems so stuffy. How did you end up learning to play?"

"I am Comte-in-Exile Damien Chevalier. The Comte part means I grew up at the Emperor's court. Even before Nick took over I was raised among the highest classes. My family was the wealthiest family in the Empire until my father died. I ruled for only nine months but I think I drove us down to number five. Then my sister took over and returned us back to where we belonged." Damien replied with a smile, "Nobles love lawn bowling. I mean it is simple for them because the servants do all the real work." He smiled suddenly at a memory, "I remember Nick getting so drunk that he closed his eyes, turned his back to the pines and threw the ball over his shoulder. He accidentally tossed it right at me, so I knocked over all the pins, and slipped away. He thought he was the Gods' gift to sports after that."

Silvia giggled. "My mother is a lady, and my sister, but I don't recall either one of them playing lawn bowls. Then again, I don't believe they met the emperor either, at least, they didn't before I left. What's he like when he's sober?"
