Silvia grinned. "Were you hoping to share Konrad's quarters? He is quite handsome, and his trick with the serpent was a sight to behold. I'll admit that I enjoyed the intimacy of the Tranquility but I like this vessel too. The day you came across to visit was a good one - we had some fun then, even before the serpent showed up."

“I mean...he’s absolutely welcome to visit.” She didn’t look at Konrad even though he was also on deck just then. She cleared her throat and looked a little uncomfortable for a different reason. “I’m glad you had fun when I visited. Hope I didn’t...offend? I wasn’t quite myself, you see.”
Justine quickly changed the subject. “But yes. The way he handled the serpent was brilliant. I was terrified, but it all worked out, didnt it?” She was sorely tempted to make a double entendre about his serpent but she left it. That was Nigel’s domain, or Silvia’s. They were rather comparable, Justine realized, though she found Silvia more companionable.

Justine's comment about not being herself reminded Silvia about how strangely she'd behaved. She was still puzzled by the incident - and honestly a little freaked out - but decided not to remark upon it. Next time it happened, perhaps.
"Yes, it was a thrilling incident. I would love to see the serpent again. I just wish I had a talent for sketching, but, alas, my pictures are best painted with music and lyrics. But I suppose it would be greedy of me to wish to be a talented artist as well. Do you have any skill with creative arts, Justine?"

The Odyssey glided through the choppy waters and the captain had a course set that even the most directionally impaired person on board could tell was virtually due east. Strange sea creatures swam under and around the ship but paid it little mind. Kjell’s enchanted sleep worked as advertised and her dreams were uh disturbed by giant evil trees and axemen. As Konrad spoke aloud, Zavier nodded his head from the railing not far away. “Is that what being a hero feels like?” He asked in his shy yet earnest voice. “Doing a good deed, and then leaving before the evil comes back to undo what you have wrought?” Konrad replied looking back at the island in the distance,. “I don’t know. Perhaps.” He listened to Silvia and Justine talking among themselves, and smiled as he watched Justine stealing a look. “

She shook her head, feeling relieved not to have to explain anything to Silvia. The people on this voyage did seem very accepting. Justine wondered if she could trust it. She had really been letting down her guard lately. She glanced around, trying to see if anyone was watching her. “I do not, sadly. I dance tolerably well, but my sister was the singer.”

Zavier scratched the size of his head. “That seems awfully pessimistic,” he said. “I mean, it felt good at least. I always felt that that war between good and evil got fought a long time ago and evil won. It felt nice to...I dunno, slow it down for once.” A splash of cold salt spray washed over the deck as a large wave crashed.

Konrad inhaled deeply of the ocean. “My father used to say, Evil is something that is. Good is something you do,” Konrad shrugged, “did you have any fun on the island in the mean time? I had meant to check out the weapons store as well as some other things but it all got... well you know.” He wasn’t really sure what to think of the young sailor. He seemed wise beyond his years and yet with the curiousity of youth. Maybe that came from the traveling life of a sailor but made Konrad feel slightly ignorant, despite being older in appearance.

Did your sister die, then?" Silvia frowned. She hadn't had enough alcohol to feel up to untangling the puzzle that was Justine. "That's sad, if so. I haven't spoken to either of my sisters for years but I'd still be sad if I heard that something terrible happened to one of them."

We just...don’t talk anymore.” Justine looked out across the water, feeling as distant as the island fading behind them. “I am the last of my name. And sometimes, I don’t think that is a bad thing.” She looked back and managed to smile. “Funny that so many of us come from good families and money. Whatever did we all do to end up here?”

The young navigator nodded. “I, uh, got this,” he said, waving to a gun on his belt. “That weapon store owner disappeared so I figured why not? Your father sounds like a smart man. Some days I feel like I barely remember mine.” That last sounded absent, like he had only just realized it.

Where as there was no shortage of duels to be fought with a blade at school.”

“That seems more...I don’t know, it feels fairer. But go with what works right?” Konrad saw some strange wooden flotsam in the water. As they neared it it looked somewhat like hull planks.

As they neared it it looked somewhat like hull planks. “Ho, what’s that,” he said, pointing out the wreckage to Zavier. “Looks like the hull of a ship.” He climbed up on the gunwale to get a better look and scan the waters for any more signs of activity. Konrad, and shortly thereafter anyone on deck, sees the wreckage is coming from the east and is visibly more than one ship’s worth of wood. Even the crew looked confused.

"Back onboard!" Archimedes sat on one of his camping chairs in the middle of the deck, likely hindered the traffic of people who were actually doing something of importance. Unlike them, Archie drank a small colorful tea, from a frozen cold cup. The last few days had been terrible, he had felt like shit after all the ordeal with the pirates and the Flubber. Yet, after retiring for a bit and feeling sorry for himself, he decided to enjoy the sun an the sea breeze. Ceutinde had spent the first few days settling into her much more restricted quarters and checking up on the minor wounds that those aboard had suffered in the fighting, and now felt quite ready for a bit of leisure. She walked up to Archie and asked, "Mind if I join you, professor? I never did get a chance to thank you for your intervention at the tavern." 'Yes, of course, dear... Come come, do you want some tea?" The old man gently offered the Lady his own beverage. "Well, that was nothing, really. We are a Team here, I would be in the wrong if I didn't step up to protect you. And as you saw, I may be old, but I'm not lacking any tricks in my sleeves..." "Though that may have been a little excessive, I admit." Archie scratched his chin, thinking of the whole Flubber Affair.
