She took the spyglass and raised it to her left eye, looking in the direction indicated.

Kjell takes a moment to notice it, but there is a barely visible vessel ahead of them, hidden in the sunny haze. She sees a silvery sail made of some unfamiliar fabric but that’s all she can tel at this distance.

“Sails ahead,” she said, lowering the spyglass. A couple of seconds later she raised it again to take another look when it finally occurred to her they were supposed to be way past other ships. “Well, shit.” She handed the scope back. “I don’t suppose there’s anything else out there they could be headed to?”

Demeter glanced at Zavier for a moment then shook her head and squinted our toward where Kjell had looked. “Not very damned likely. Either it blasted those other ships to pieces or it survived whatever did. Either way doesn’t add up to anything I like. We’ll see the islands soon so they must be heading that way, unless starving to death in the empty blue sea’s their idea of fun.”

"Its sails match this one's," she replied, nodding at the pieces of silvery canvas floating around in the water. "So... whatever did this?"

"How big is it?" Ceutinde asked Kjell and the captain, "Or how many guns? Is it actually a serious threat to us?"

Demeter frowned and then turned to the big elf. “I mean, it could be a serious threat. We’ll know more as we get closer. But...” she looked to Nigel and The others running about, “we don’t exactly have a normal kind of crew.” She has a sailor start roping in pieces of the hull, and the adventurers clearly see one of the pieces of wood has been clawed by something enormous. “I’ve changed my mind. It’s not good,” she added.

In response to Ceutinde's question, Kjell raised her hand with maybe 0,2 inches of space between her thumb and her index finger. That's how big the ship was.
"Well," she said, looking at the clawed piece of debris. "Shit."

“Can that at least discount that the ship did it, or are we thinking the ship clawed at other ships?” Thalia questioned.

Demeter chuckled at the elf’s trolling but nodded to Thalia. “I find it likely that whatever smashed these other ships either died trying to get the last one or it was able to flee. It’s hard to say right now.” She leaned on the railing and looked overboard. “I hope it’s not still in the water.”

Justine barely had a moment to admire the angle of the wildman's dangle before she was ogling slightly more useful things. Like the wreckage in the water. She looked back and noticed the red-haired sorceress.
"Oh good...Thalia, was it? After what you did to those pirates, well, I feel a little safer standing next to you." She grinned at her and turned back to Silvia. "I guess you had better put the instruments away. Wouldn't want anything to happen to them."

"Well, wouldn't be the first time I had to deal with something that size." Her eyes also went wide at the sight of the hull fragment. "Shit, indeed." She looked to the more experienced reclaimers in hope that they might have an idea what did it. "Herneiros? Have you ever seen anything that could do that?"

It was good someone other than the captain seemed to appreciate her efforts, all she was sued to what Nigel telling her what an amateur she was, “yes, apologies for being late to that, but if all goes well ideally we won’t have to see a repeat of the pirates, I do not think we have had the pleasure yet.”

"That's true," Silvia murmured. She gave her lute a sad look, exaggerated for Justine's benefit.
"It seems like our next adventure has come along more quickly than I anticipated. I'll go and fetch my weapons. I'd rather have them at my side than in my cabin."

He chewed his pipe with a serious, thoughtful look at the horizon. "We're better off just sailing past if it's still nearby."
