Silvia watched in amazement, marvelling at the beauty of it, until the slaughter began. She was struck with awe at the deadly beauty of the dragons and horrified at the damage they wreaked. She thought of Zavier's connection with his dragon and wondered. She looked around for him to see how he was taking it.

Zavier seemed annoyed at the display. When the fiery slaughter began he rolled his eyes. As they walked another hundred meters a wizard faced down the dragons and cast a spell and three of the dragons were obliterated by some sort of bright white beam from the top of the temple that cut them to shreds in mid air. The fourth flew off and the wizard went back toward the temple. At 500 meters in the illusion ended as suddenly as it had begun, and the earth shook again. Zavier turned to see Silvia looking at him and raised an eyebrow as a sort of question.

Silvia watched the show continued. At first she'd assumed the show was indicating that the dragons were evil, something she found hard to believe given what she knew about Zavier, but as it progressed she began to doubt whether that was the intention after all.
"What is this?" She asked. "Is this something that really happened? Or just a story? A myth, maybe?"

“Not a myth,” he said, looking back at the lake a second. “I think this temple is what caused the dragons to vanish all those centuries ago. I don’t know why,” he admitted. “Although I guess that death ray answers it to an extent.”

"Yes. But what does that mean for us? And for you in particular? Are you in danger?" She frowned.

"Maybe that was the treasure of the gods..." suggested Herneiros. "And what our employer hopes will save us from the Mist."

“I assume we’re all in danger,” Zavier said. “But...” he frowned. “I guess that explains why Searshe can’t come here. Dragons aren’t creatures of the Mist so that weapon was built for something else. She was insistent that whatever the temple was holding is an irreplaceable tool to try reclaiming the land.” He shook his head.
The party heard skittering coming from beneath the bridge. The blade demons had started moving.

"Maybe," Silvia mused, as Herneiros spoke. "But I won't pretend to know anything about magic." For the first time she wondered what the treasure truly was, and why Searshe wanted it. She heard the sounds and tensed automatically.
"It looks like we'll have to resume this discussion later, lads."

Tehol is a firm believer of everything is connected. And those of this world even most creatures are putty that can be melded with the right touch. So with that in mind, he gathers up his mental energies to try and beat one of the sword demons into submission though in a way that was very nicely, with great subtlety and finesse. To try and either make it turn on it’s comrade, or to try and befriend it.

As the first blade demon emerged, Tehol reached out with his mind and discovered a flaw in his thesis. Apparently some creatures just really did like killing for the sake of it...

Juliette grinned. Forget the show: this was what she had been waiting for.
She squeezed her cut finger that had failed to summon the beasts and wove together blood and magic.

Thalia is a firm believer in freezing things alive,
She uses her set fire to the rain ability. But infuses it with ice to both damage the demons ad slow them down, just as Kjell suggested.

The admin will never let K roll again, as the adventurers use repeated frost based slow attacks combined with extremely accurate missile weapons to annihilate the blade demons before the beasts even reach the party. Their corpses slip and fall into the iridescent lake which boils and churns as it cooks their bodies.
I’m giving everyone one experience for this nonsense

"So.." Tehol starts after the Demons fall off the bridge and the gunpowder clears. "Onwards?" He says from the back of the group.
