A foundational learning set of spells. They cost zero mana to cast but cannot be cast if you have 0 mana as that represents total magical burnout. Each cantrip may be cast four times a day for free. Subsequent castings cost one mana.
Magic Missile: deals 2d6 damage to a target. May spend mana to create one additional missile per cast if you really need to do damage now. This spell is called magic missile but every wizard tailors how it actually works to their own persona.
Arcane shield: adds 10 to your armor for Two rounds. This protection is directionally based so place it carefully
Inspector: magnifies any image up to ten times like a magnifying glass. Usually used to check integrity of wards or for minute imperfections in various objects
Detect magic: inspect an object for enchantments. 5 yard range. This spell requires a minimum of 60 in at least one school of magic
