Damien Chevalier shook his head, "If Sylvia wants to trigger the traps for us, I will not stand in her way. And I am very curious about the door next door." He stepped into the hall. "I am curious what was being held here. Do you think it is a god? Locked down here all alone. If I was a god locked in the cell all alone, I would be very scared." He looked at the door he had examined before.

Silvia waited for Damien and Kjell to join her. What was the point in heading down there if they weren't going to finish the exploration? She was sure they would find a way to meet up with the rest of the party, they just had to find the right area first.

Korabas slithers around the room. Occasionally looking expectantly at Silvia because the other two are making no obvious move to head down the ladder which is even apparent to the snake.

She laughed at the creature and almost reached out a hand to pat the nearest of his heads. Then she realised that it was probably bad manners to touch someone else's familiar without asking, and pulled her hand back.
"Oh, do you want to go further? It looks like it's just you and me," she said. She raised her voice a little. "I can't believe the King of Thieves isn't eager to explore the rest of this place. I know I would be, if I were him. We might be the only humans who have come here for thousands of years and haven't found nearly enough treasure so there must be more to discover. I bet there aren't any elves who have come here either," she added, for Kjell's benefit.
Then she stepped towards the open doorway.

She opened the door slowly and felt a wave of heat wash over her, uncomfortable but not searing. She’s looking into a room about thirty feet across. In the center is a molten sphere about four feet in diameter. It glows a magma-like orange and hovers a few feet off the ground. Kjell feels it burnin her skin even from a distance now that it is exposed. It doesn’t affect any of the humans at all. A second later, a hand with three sharp claws begins digging its way out of the burning womb...

Korabas definitely hisses at this abomination looking at it through Silvia's legs on floor level cause hydra.

Silvia gazed in horrified wonder for just a moment, then she pulled out her sword and moved into a fighting stance, ready to fight whatever was coming out of the sphere.
"Get behind me," she instructed the hydra. "I don't want Tehol losing another companion." Still watching the molten sphere she called out "Elise, we need magic that can counter lava or something like that."

Korabas wonders at the logic of being told to stay behind her when his placement was already behind her. Nevertheless he does stays put wondering if biting the thing will burn his.... Mouths? Meeths?

Kjell, likely occupied with holding Damien’s collar to stop him from going and opening a potential monster lair, recoiled from the heat, raising an arm to shield herself from the light like a vampire. “What the fuck’s this?” she called downstairs.

Damien tried to pull Kjell out into the hall. “Get away. There must be a trap.” He looked into the room and yelled down the hatch. “Whatever you did down there has unleashed a trap. Kjell is burning.” He stayed in the hall and looked at the sniper’s wound.

On the one hand, Silvia wanted to fight the emerging monster, but on the other hand, Kjell was injured, and Korabas too. Putting her own life in danger was one thing, but it would be selfish to risk the life of party members just so she could engage in a fight worthy of an epic ballad. She grabbed the door and slammed it shut.
"It was a fiery monster!" She called up. "It was trying to birth some strange creature."

“I’m not burning,” said Kjell, swatting away the thief’s hand. Damage schmamage. “Think you should better get back up. Let’s get the others in here as well.”

Silvia made a face that Kjell couldn't see. Why was everyone so set against fighting what had to be a demon? Their fame was assured if they fought such a creature and lived. She sighed.
"Fine, I'll come up, for now. But I think it's a bad idea to let that creature live. We should definitely kill it before we're done here."

“If it’s a flame demon, I doubt your blades will be of much use. Weren’t we supposed to find a way in and then get the others?” Kjell questioned. “I’m not sure why we’re exploring by ourselves while the others wait outside.”
