"You startled me, that's all. And I've never met a giant before. I'm Silvia Raizer, best known as the Skylark of Bastion." She swept him an elegant bow. "This is Tehol Nookington, with Korabas and Cyntheri. He and I were part of a grand expedition a little while ago so we were just catching up. I've no idea what sort of things giants are usually good at but I'll wager you make a fearsome warrior."

"I am a smith by heart and trade, but need has long ago made me a warrior... A Harbinger, as my people call those like me." The giant rose somberly and approached the duo, greeting them with a solemn bow. " The ways of my people are not always widely known, thus I do not blame your ignorance. We are a very secretive folk, preferring to keep to our own kind unless we are forced by powers we do not control."

"Of course." Silvia wasn't really sure what a Harbinger was but she wasn't going to admit to that. "Well met, Wrugar. I am happy to make your acquaintance." She felt like a child beside him. Are you new to the city?"

"Yes, in a way, I am..." The giant said briefly, clearly not comfortable to linger on this subject. "I used to come here back when I was younger, but that is a time beyond reach now."
"Pardon me, Lady Silvia, but I wonder if you could be of aid." He said politely. "Are you acquainted to a raven-haired, ruby-lipped lady? She seems to be somewhat connected to the Guild, for she was the one to tell me to come here; but the clerks appear to know nothing about her."

Silvia frowned. "I'm not sure, honestly. I've met plenty of dark-haired women in my time, and any woman may make her lips ruby if she paints them. I am actually knew to the guild myself. Most of my previous jobs have been freelance, so to speak. Do you know anything else about this woman, perhaps her name, or her profession?"

"Alas, I do not... It is a mystery I am looking forward to solve sooner rather than later." The giant stated, not really excited about the prospects of this mysterious employer he was getting in bed with. "I grow weary from this mystery. Now I start to rethink taking on the offer that was given to me, even if refusing would have incurred in a terrible outcome."
"Are you set for any mission with the Guild?" He inquired.

"Not at the moment, no, but I'm sure I'll be taking a job in the near future, once my current affairs have been dealt with." She frowned again. "I am puzzled though as to why you would take the word of this woman if you know nothing about her other than her face."

"She made me an offer I was not in a position to refuse." The giant sighed sadly. "You appear to be to young to know this, but once you have children... There's nothing in the world you wouldn't do to see them safe and sound. My past is not completely clean, and I have much reason for shame. Things I wouldn't want my children to be aware of."

Silvia rejected the idea of asking the giant's children but she would further betray her ignorance of giant culture if she did so. Instead she smiled sympathetically at him.
"I have no children myself, nor can I picture myself with any, but I know what it is to have parts of my life I don't want my family to know about." She thought about her sister Coraline, who would be horrified if she knew much about Silvia's life.
"The woman blackmailed you, then"

"What sort of work are you looking into then, MAster Wungar." Tehol says bringing his attention back to the giant and Silvia after being distracted by Korabas trying to make a snack out of someone's cat.

"One can say that, yes. But she doesn't seem the kind of person one would say that to her face." The giant stated, then turned to the bearded man with the pets.
"I must first get done with her task, something about the King of Fire Giants. But my services as a smith will be always at the service of the good people of Bastion..." He said kindly. "I have learned the trade from my father, who learned from his father and so on. Back in the day, the men of my clan were masters of weaving magic into steel and iron. Much of that knowledge has been lost, but I still know the runes that were taught me when I was little."

Tehol think's for a moment, "I was just given a small adventure out into the mists to try and collect some samples for a mutual friend of ours." Tehol says gesturing towards him and Silvia, "In order for them to make what I assume to be a powerful magical weapon, if you would like to accompany me and learn some more ancient smithing techniques."

"That would be of interest, yes..." The giant responded in a deep thoughtful tone. " Though I'd have to get this whole affair with the mysterious lady sorted out first."
