“That is silly, they should work together, but that is our gain.” Thalia said and nodded, “thank you for the information Phillip, do you know the best way I can get in contact with the queen?”

He nodded. "There's a Synchronization Gem in our embassy's vault. It has a permanent link to the queen's own. I don't know how she knows whenever we're going to use it...but she always seems to." He kept his eye on her. "Anything specific you want us invvestigating for now, my lady?"

“There was a master thief in our group, he often headed off and I do not trust him, I did not find out anything about him, but a known thief in an expedition is suspicious to me.” She said, “other than him, I’d like you to keep tabs on the academy, to ebsyre they’re nit doing anything duplicitous with the globes.” She finished.

"Ah, right, the, what's he call himself?" he thought of the title a second, "right, the 'Comte-in-Exile'. I'm well acquainted with Damien Chevalier. He's hard to miss given he spouts off tales of his thieving prowess every time he has a chance to expel air from his maw. He is difficult to predict but I'll see what we can do. We have...we have sources at the Academy," he said. " I shall ensure you're kept apprised of any strange developments."

“I would be grateful.” Thalia said, nodding, and standing up, “I should return to my translations, but I am sure we shall become well acquainted ourselves during my stay here.”

Philip nodded and rose. "Pleasure meeting you, my lady," he said, then he was off to whatever secret squirrel stuff he did.

After a few days of translating the tomes, Thalia has a basic outline of the books and what they mean. The key points she is able to discern are the locations of the remaining temples, and she also found a map of Old Nedrassia, which they had passed on the way to the island. It apparently housed some sort of old fortress that hadn't had any other scientific use. The two closest temples are northeast two hundred miles through the mountains, past the Fire Giants territory and into the unknown, and along the northwestern coast of Thessali, about six hundred miles by water away but through waters infested with typically horrid monsters.
She is also able to decipher that Mist doesn't expand to altitudes over 2500 meters, which was news to her. The absolute tallest mountains within a hundred miles didn't significantly clear those heights but her maps revealed certain areas along the northern coast did.
The final thing she learned was that one of the orbs she had found was called the Dawn Tree, and it apparently was inspired or created by a place in Old Canderlin, the ruins of the former kingdom now inhabited by the twisted draconic servants of Dominius the Blue.
