“I may be able to directly help there already, but we should discuss that another time, work can wait until the morning.” She said, already aware of other facilities, but wanting to be blue to give him more information.
“I don’t think that’s true, good people who get money will remain being good, courteous, rude people who get money are not made rude, they are elevated to where they can reveal it without fear of reprisal, the same as power, power doesn’t corrupt, power reveals.” She tried engaging in the light hearted conversation like a heavy brick, but the majority of her time was being constantly subtly tested by her Queen, “money gives the opportunity for ones true character to shine, both a person with none, will delve into depths they condemn, but have no other choice. If you wish to see a place where the suffering due to lack of enough resource, you should take a trip to Lisandre with me.” She continued to over explain like answer a test question, the group would likely never have heard Thalia say so much before.
“That is a shame, Justine, I should have liked to have met more people.”

As if on cue, Nigel arrived, sidling in during the tail end of Thalia's droning thesis statement on the nature of wealth. On the way to the group he signed a half dozen autographs, avoided two cuckolded husbands, and caused one particularly effervescent noblewoman to come down with a case of the vapours.
Rather than addressing his compatriots directly, he admired the view, looking wistfully over the battleships in the harbor. "You know I served on that ship there in my days in the Imperial Marines," he pointed out one of the battleships, an older model. "The ISS Nicholaus. A fine vessel. I hear they are decommissioning the old girl next month." He stared a moment longer, before flagging down one of the wait staff for a stiff drink.
"First let us dispense with the business at hand," he reached into his doublet, which stood in stark contrast to the plate he had basically lived in of late, and pulled out a bank note for each of those present. "Another 400 gold for each of you, courtesy of the sold dwarven mail. Don't spend it all in one place...though if you do I would recommend the House of Respite."

Silvia took the note gratefully and slipped it into her pocket. "My thanks, Thornheart. I'm planning on visiting Ceutinde," she said. "I was saying to Justine a few minutes ago, I want to follow up on what happened to the women we rescued. I've a feeling they never made it to Ceutinde's place."
"I should like to visit Lisandre," she told Thalia.

Justine had been distracted by the menu and a little intimidated by the prices of things. She hadn’t spent much time in such establishments as she had never really had much coin. So when Nigel showed up and distributed notes of such a large sum, she found herself suddenly extremely glad to see him.
“How good to see you, Mr Thornheart.” Money did so much to make her forget the forced kiss and maybe 10% of The ass slaps. She called over a waitress and ordered some sparkling wine. Delightful. A whole bottle. And she could share it. When it arrived, she began pouring.
“We should all toast to our success. Does anyone care to say a few words?”

"May we always do sober what we said we'd do drunk," Nigel raises his glass. "For that is how you learn to keep your mouth shut. Aha!" He downs the sparkling wine in one drought and smashed the glass on the ground. "Huzzah!"
"Once we have discerned the purpose of these globes, I will need to leave the city for a spell to find a suitable buyer for the paladin greatsword. I will find each of you upon my return to provide your fair share, but if I am unable to find you will leave your bank notes at the Reclaimer's Guildhall. In exchange, my publisher wishes to interview each of you for blurbs for the upcoming book and the impending press junket."

Silvia raised her glass. "They say that all publicity is good publicity, so I'll drink to that. I'm staying at the Laurel Wreath, but I've errands of my own to run as well, so I'll be in and out of the inn."

Justine sipped hers more slowly, enjoying a very good wine for a change. The rest of the small fortune she would save. Demetrius would hopefully appreciate no longer having to sleep in the woods or miserable hovels. By no means was she planning to live like a lord all of a sudden, but a few nice things would never hurt.
She raised her glass to his toast, not that she really understood it. "Where do you intend to travel, Mr Thornheart? It seems Silvia and Thalia mean to go to Lisandre. I must confess it sounds like an incredible place to see." She nodded toward Thalia with a small smile. "I'm not sure where I am headed next. Bastion is lovely but I doubt I will stay overlong."

"Edysse, for an audience with our Emperor," Nigel replied, nonchalantly, as if it were a daily occurrence.

She frowned then. The emperor had put her whole family in the asylum, punished every de Vair for her father's crime. Still she recovered herself quickly. "How pleasant. I haven't been to Edysse that I can recall."
"About those interviews..." She quickly changed the subject. "Are they compensated? Im sure you will make quite the fortune from the omnibus collection and the new novel as well."

"Well you are welcome to accompany me," Nigel offered, with a broad smile. "I mean to present this blade to His Grace as a gift along with the first draft of my new book. Based on what I have learned of the sword, I am confident he will offer any boon desired in exchange. You can enjoy the lavish royal courts, spend some of your new coin at the finest shops on the continent, benefit from the perks of traveling with a celebrity, and perhaps there will be excitement with the Brotherhood of the Silent or the Death Knight on the road."
He considered the second question. "I leave those negotiations to my publisher, but in the past they have compensated the other Mighty Thornhearts in exchange for rights to their likeness, merchandising, and the sort."

“I am not going to Lisandre yet,” Thalia explained, “I only meant that Silvia should see it one day.” Thalia explained, she’d nit leave the globes like that until they knew what they did.

Silvia thought for a moment. "I should like to meet the Emperor too," she remarked. "Perhaps I shall be invited to sing for him. I lived in Edysse for a while, too, so perhaps my knowledge of the city will be of some use."

"The more the merrier, Skylark," Nigel replied, motioning for a server to bring him a flesh glass and libation. "I intend to finish the first draft of Sailing with Serpents on the journey and a song or two from a legendary bard gracing its pages would surely be welcome."

"I'm sure it would," she agreed. "I've mentioned it before, I think, but I'm certain that we can mutually benefit from each other's reputation. How soon will you be setting out? I do have other business to deal with, and some of it must be dealt with quickly. But I would very much like to meet the Emperor. And it would certainly be interesting to see the most famous writer of our time hard at work on his newest masterpiece."

"I am certain we will find no shortage of ways to mutually benefit one another on the journey," Nigel winked, grateful for the company. "Once we settle this matter with the globes, I will depart."
