“An adventure? That sounds purposeless.” She tilted her head again and studied him closely. “What is your purpose?”

"Saving the world. Revenge. Maybe some personal revelations. Our friends had several personal issues leading them into the Mist, so I volunteered to just take them on a single journey."

“We don’t have any.” She rotated her neck and it cracked loudly in the small space. “She would want to, though. To help her friends.” She looked him up and down. “Would you consider yourself a friend? She likes you. And you are rather nice to look at.”
“Are you sure you don’t want punishment? I think a big strapping last like you could even enjoy it.”

"Oh no. I think your lessons are a bit too advanced for me, and I have a long trip ahead. I must stay healthy. Though I am rather flattered you would consider me in that regard."
He stroked his beard in light pride.
"Anyway... I don't know where to find Averatas... but I suspect I know where to find a different god of darkness who does apparently speak to his followers. Perhaps that might interest you. Not that I would suggest you listen to it, but we might uncover information on your... condition."

Juliette shrugged as if to say he was missing out. “Fine then.”
“We follow no god. But which do you mean? And why do you think he would have anything to do with me? Or even my lesser half?” She moved again on the bed til she was lying on her stomach, face propped up in her hands.

"Estos, god of the Mist, one who allegedly oversees many transformations similar to yours. And frankly, I don't know for certain he is connected to anything... but most of the world's secrets are out there in the Mist, waiting to be found. I see no reason yours won't be either. If you change your mind, you can simply follow the Old Way back to Bastion."

“I believe our dearest friend is going as well? Demetrius? Yes, we will go for him.” She nodded resolutely. “We Already intended to go. I just wanted to hear you try to Convince me.” She winked at him.
“You’ve really disappointed me, you know. Don’t you want to come here and take me?.” She rolled into her back and looked at him upside down with her head hanging off the bed. Her robe fell open to reveal smooth pale skin. “Justine has imagined it several times. She would be jealous.”

Herneiros reached down to touch her face and trace his thumb over her lips, quick to pull it away should she snap at it. "It's not that I am not tempted... but if we do this... I have to know. Do you trust me, Juliette?"

She laughed at how quickly he pulled away. “You’re like a mouse with a trap, and you’re asking me if I trust you?” It was perhaps the funniest thing she has heard.
She sat up and looked at him properly, not in one of her restless contortions. “If you want us you may have us. Both of us.” She leaned forward and ran a hand down his chest. “I can’t guarantee I won’t taste your blood either. Blood for blood.” She grinned savagely.

Herneiros, typically very moral and humane by most standards of ethics, found himself sorely tempted. And frankly, he had been undergoing an intense amount of soul searching on account of the fact his destiny may be controlled by a thousands year old doomsday cabal of time-traveling, clairvoyant mutant cultists from another dimension. That's a tough episode in anyone's life.
So Herneiros stood up, went to the door... and securely locked it before returning to the bed...

Juliette radiated self satisfaction as she pulled him toward her and laid claim to him. The marks from her teeth and nails would take a week at least to heal.

/////////////////////////////////
Ceutinde knocked on Justine's door after arriving back at the HoP&RFoH from her little party night/factfinding mission with Silvia, still in her dress from the night before. "Are you in, darling?" She called from the hall.

“For you, always,” Justine answered and opened the door for her. “To what do I owe the pleasure?”

"A fascinating night that I wish you'd been there for." Ceutinde leaned down to give her a peck on the forehead as she waltzed into the room and flopped down on the bed. "Silvia and I went out to keep an eye on our suspect. We ended up at a hedonistic beach resort for the filthiest rich folk of Bastion. I might still be a bit tipsy."

Justine’s eyes widened and a smile grew on her face. “Fascinating. You have to tell me everything.” She sat at the edge of the bed and slipped off Ceutinde’s shoes to massage her feet. “Did you find any information you needed? Or did you just have fun?”
