Emperor Nicholas II (33): The ruler of the island, the Emperor is a man in his early thirties, tall and powerful, before ascending the throne a paladin of the eldest blood of Innuria. The previous emperor had died childless, naming the man as his successor personally. Nicholas is sad to be proud and vigorous but prone to bouts of depression that can last weeks, and the fits are more common as instability rises under the guise of both secessionists in Bastion and the strange and cruel Brotherhood of the Silent, who have been impoverishing villages all across the great highways of Innuria.
Governor Manel Nikemios Erastion IV (61): The governor of Bastion, Manel the Mage has thrown back assault after assault on the city's walls with his armies and spells. He alone among the living has crossed the mountains of Grey Mist and seen Old Canderlin's ruined cities. He rules Bastion with an iron fist in a silk glove, and while the Council calls prudence in dealing with the secessionists, Manel has not made his legend by being passive. (Mist Hunter Illuminator)
Mariya d'Argentan (44): Leader of the Imperial Magicians' Academy. Extremely tall and skilled at both fire magic and psionics, Mariya is widely regarded the most powerful mage in Innuria.
Lord Arslan the Undying (36): Lord of Bryndamare. Lord Arslan has fought the Thousand Serpents and more in his lifetime, and now guards Bryndamare and its critical roads against all enemies. Lord Bryndamare died a half decade ago and the Governor chose his most trusted soldier to wed his daughter and maintain the peace. Lord Arslan has many who whisper about him behind his back, but none with sense despise him to his face.
The Death Knight: Ruler of the grim swamps of eastern Innuria, the Death Knight is known to have been a former Imperial lord who was so cruel his own peasants slew him, but even death could not stop his reign. His necropolis sits far from civilization, but entire hosts of men have ventured into his lands and their corpses now help guard his domain.
Dominius (?): A large blue dragon who rules the coastal mountains nearest Innuria. Dominius also bars the only pass to Old Canderlin and his strange and fearsome armies are the first foes a Reclaimer will face.
King Perrillius (?): King of the fire giants, a warlike and harsh race, one of Thessali's last indigenous species known to exist untained by Mist, King Perrillius guards his volcanic borders harshly. Only other giants may have a chance to gain an audience not guaranteed to end in being fed to their lord the Earthspark.
Miles Bellavia (28): A charismatic young man, leader of the secessionists of Bastion. Miles believes the city is being undermined by taxes and the Imperial edicts governing it, and wishes to free the city to allow a republican government modeled after an ancient kingdom of Thessali. He is no friend to Mist, though, and has gone several times into the east himself. One of Bastion's finest duelists, Miles mother was a native and his father the captain of the Governor's guard.
Bahadur and Mika the Greenwards: This married native couple are the spiritual leaders of Innuria's native population. Bahadur is a soldier of talent and renown, pioneering the use of cannon in battle, while Mika is a priestess to the ancestors of the land, and rumors persist she is one of the Chosen, able to summon the guardians of mankind from the very stars to defend Bastion.
