"Of course not. It's real, Jenna, and it's glorious. Honestly, I've never seen anything like it." She remembered Konrad speaking to the creature, how it had approached them. "I doubt I would be so lucky again."
She sighed, "But I'm sure you've seen lots of strange and wonderful things too. Demons, and so forth."

She nodded. “Demons and bandits and the Ghost of Harris Hall,” she said. “But the ghost pretty well wiped the floor with my group. I can’t recommend heading there.” She shivered involuntarily. “But let’s talk as we shop. I saw a wyvern once, she added. “I’m going to try finding their best and tame one. I’ll be the Wyvern Knight. That’ll be a song won’t it?”

"It will, and I'll write it." As they headed for the door, she said, feigning nonchalance, "Have you seen the family recently?"

Jenna nodded and made a face. “Our dear sister is still the same as ever,” she said. “Married to some jackass. She’s supposed to have a child in a few months. I feel bad for it already. Our cousins Arthur and Rhiannon are doing fine though. They opened up some theater in Edysse and have a traveling troupe.” They headed out into the streets and toward a row of shops. “I’m going to assume you haven’t talked to her?” She asked, pretty much unnecessarily.

Silvia shrugged. "Not likely. I stopped having interesting conversations with Coraline when I was seven. We've nothing in common any more, besides our family. I wish her joy of her husband and child, but that's about it. She's one of the reasons I never go home. I've no idea what I'd even say, and my life is not something she'll ever comprehend."
She led the way towards her second favourite dress shop. As she reached the door, she said "So our cousins finally did it, then? I thought they'd never give in to their love of the theatre. Maybe my fame served to inspire them."

Jenna laughed. “Your arrogance,” she chuckled. “I do truly believe you think the world rotates around you. You could be the Sun of Bastion,” she decided. “Without which we would all be plunged into darkness. Anna the tailor walked over and spoke to them, and Jenna asked to see their blue silk. “But yes, they finally did it. And I think Uncle Henry has returned from out west with a whole bunch of strange things he found. He apparently made it all the way to Oceanun.” The legendary island was the farther known of the colonies.

"Wow. Do you think Uncle Henry would be willing to show me some of the things he found. You know I adore strange objects, and the stranger they are, the better. Besides, if he's inclined to make a name for himself, I can help with that. I'm finally famous enough that I'm no longer just the black sheep of the family." She smirked a little. "I'm a Reclaimer now. Thornheart himself was part of the expedition. The funny thing is, he's exactly how the book said - I couldn't quite believe it when he walked into that tavern and acted all..well, just how he did in the book. Even Coraline can't argue with that kind of connection."

Jenna made a face when she mentioned Nigel. “Don’t mention him if we meet friends,” she said. “He had sex with the bride to be and three of her ladies in waiting.” She shook her head then turned back to her. “To be clear, I’m not one of them. One issue with being a paladin is you can smell poorly cast augmentation magic.” She did raise an eyebrow like she was expecting Silvia to confess. “Do you think the blue will suit?” She asked. “As to Uncle Henry, well, I’m sure he’d like to see you again. He might even be in the south docks. I’ll go find him with you. He moves a lot but I met him at a place there about two years ago.”

"Excellent. I'm looking forward to it." She couldn't help being amused at the fact that Thornheart had trespassed upon her sister's life, albeit unwittingly.
"The blue looks lovely. Might I suggest some silver embroidery around the cuffs? And a sapphire necklace, if you've got one. Though, don't forget, there are other shops too."

She nodded. “You’re right. I’ll keep this in mind. It looks lovely though so this is a promising start.” She looked about for another shop. Silvia thought she saw a man watching them from a distance. It’s not obvious but he catches her eye one time too many to be fully comfortable. He has normal clothes and doesn’t initially seem to be armed.

She decided not to mention the man, at least not straightaway. She informed Anna that they would potentially come back later and led the way to her favourite shop. As they walked, she kept her eyes open for the man who seemed to have been watching her.

Victoria’s is owned by the namesake’s daughter Elizabeth now, a kindly middle aged woman who smiled as Silvia entered. “My songbird!” She said. “And surely this is your sister! You look so much alike!”
Jenna smiled and the pair chatted a second over colors, which Elizabeth insisted should turn to emerald green. After showing her the fabric and the prototype dress she agreed. “You were right,” she said. “This woman is good.” Elizabeth headed to the back to find her measuring tape. Silvia sees the man one final time looking at the pair across the street about forty yards away.

She touched Jenna's arm to get her attention. "Do you see that man outside? He seems to be watching us. I don't know him, but this is troubling."

Jenna looked over as Elizabeth began walking back. “I don’t recognize him either. Should we split up and see who he follows?” Clearly she had faith in her ability to handle one stalker.

"Yes, that's a good idea. Are you definitely getting the green dress, then? Because we should finish here and then see what happens."
