Herneiros tugged his beard gently before launching into exposition mode.

"She said the Mist was created by humans from another plane... that it was some sort of weapon they crafted to help them take control of this world... that we were responsible for the collapse of everything somehow. When I pointed out that the Mist Lords aren't human and the Mist is as dangerous to us as to any other race, she shrugged. She only knew what other dragons had known."

He frowned. "Lately, everything is about pocket dimensions and alternative realities... and not a hint about the gods I was taught about..."

“Swords are as dangerous to you as any other, but you still wield them arguable because of that fact. No?” She asked him, speaking hypothetically, “I don’t know much about gods, if they’re there I don’t think we’re meant to understand them, if we did then they’d need to function as we do and they’d not be very godly would they. Have faith though, that only works if it survives being challenged yes?”

"Aye... I suppose we might even see some gods before this journey is over." He gestured to the book. "Anything useful?"

Thalia told him what she’d gleaned from the book,

“Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to give much information about battling the mist, but your sorcerers night doubt could use it.” She shrugged apologetically.

"Planar magic... all this talk of planar magic... and not a hint of where we came from in the first place."

He considered the answers. "I know a bit of planar magic myself, but I can't say it's taken me anywhere useful... it's mostly just ducking and weaving between cracks in this reality. Going where your enemies can't but still near enough to strike at them. One often finds demons in those secret cracks of those universe, but not... ancient human conspiracies."
