Where Reclaimers preparing for adventure go to get specialty equipment. For magical gear go to Searshe’s. For healing potions go to the Alchemy Academy.

The Reclaimers’ stables are large and varied. Anything they don’t have space for on the grounds they can have imported through their contacts across Innuria. The stable master is a centaur named Ennys. “Sir,” he grunted in his deep voice. “How’s it today?”

Herneiros greets him with a jovial tone. "Please, my name is Herneiros. And it is not bad. The weather isn't miserable."
He scratched his neck while looking at the horses that were nearby before explaining, "I am heading back into the Mist soon, so I am in need of a good horse that doesn't spook easily."

Ennys nodded and pointed at a big roan stallion. “We call him Snowfall,” he said. “Not that he listens anyway. He won’t be scared if the devil himself appeared before him. I assure you of that.”

"Are you certain, because... that's probably going to actually happen."

Ennys nodded. “This isn’t the first horse I’ve sent across the causeway,” he said. “We raise the horses around summoned monsters using Mist elementalists so they get the idea of what to expect. He’s a good strong horse and he won’t throw you. Anything else in the Mists may kill you but Snowfall here won’t.” He rubbed the horse’s nose. “He’s thirty gold. Pure bred from our own herds.”

Herneiros sorted through his purse before finding the requested sum. This was probably the first thing he had ever purchased in his life besides food and beverage.
Then he approached Snowfall and gently spoke. "Hello, my new friend. Are you hungry?" He looked through his satchel before finding some wrapped celery. Herneiros unwrapped it before holding it out.

The horse eagerly ate the proffered celery and whinnied. It seemed rather even tempered all things considered. Ennys put the coins in his purse and left them to it to speak to other customers.

After having a Hallmark Channel moment, Herneiros begins leading to his new friend away. As he walked beside Snowfall in the market, he paused to seek out a professional cartographer. He knew his way around Thessali, but he wanted to see the Imperial view of things.

"Pardon me..." Herneiros inquired at what seemed to be the proper stall. "But how recent is your most up to date map of the continent?"

The cartographer pointed to a map behind him. It looked like it was updated regularly. “Recent. A private venture has taken to mapping as much as possible and is spending a lot of gold to get it done. We have field versions with sensitive areas blanked out for free.” There was a lot on there Her euros didn’t know. Leuwinmorgh’s lifelong passion was destroying the Kraken and the majority of his time had been north of the causeway.

"...I can't read Imperial." Herneiros declared with a bit of embarrassment. "But I would happily give you a bit of coin if you list the names of the settlements nearest Bastion."
The Huntsman didn't really know what he was looking for. But his father had mentioned finding him close to the city...

“Current? There’s only Darkspear and the White Caves. Some older ones nearby were Palerose, Dragon’s Depths and The Hollow.” The man seemed surprised he couldn’t read but kept his silence.

"Palerose." Herneiros didn't give a fig about the others. "What happened to that one?"

The man narrowed his eyes and looked up like he was pondering a half-remembered lesson from school. “I believe it was wiped out about thirty years ago by the Remnant,” he said. “Some of the first encountered Abyssal Priests came from that time. There was a rumor when I was a boy that the priests could turn humans and elves into them so if we didn’t behave it could happen to us.”
