"I can only afford to do so in private, so we will have to enjoy more private time together," Nigel flashed a sly smile and held out his arms as Jeeves rushed into the room to clothe him. "The public still demands the Adventurer Extraordinaire and until I have claimed The Delve and secured the lordship that comes with it, those royalties need to keep coming in."
"Is your sister not a fan?" he inquired, having no idea he had already met her. "If she is half as stunning as you, I would love to change her mind."

Justine shrugged and watched the butler dress him with no small amusement. Jeeves didn’t seem to even notice Nigels extremely noticeable...parts. She fastened her swordbelt back around her waist. “We just might.” She smirked when he asked about her sister. She supposed he hadn’t realized she had been any different on the island...perhaps not even the disturbing things her sister could do. “As a matter of fact, we’re twins. But I don’t think you’ll be able to change her at all.”

"Did you say twins?" Nigel inquired, slackjawed and his eyes as big as saucers for a moment before recovering. "As I said, impossible is just a challenge to be overcome."

“Of a sort.” It was the easiest explanation. “You’ll find it hard to get us both in the room at the same time.” She winked at him. “I know what that face means.”
“Do you think this will do? You’re much better dressed than I am. Very...flashy. And uh...medal-y.”

"What face? I am certain I have no idea what you mean," he feigned ignorance poorly.
He glanced down at his ensemble. "Well when a marshal calls upon an admiral, he must dress the part." He turned his attention to her own outfit. "You did better without the dress, but that may just be my bias." He considered the matter for a moment. "I am sure Jeeves could find something more suitable for you from the garments I have...collected over the years from various noblewomen. Though it would be a terrible shame to disrobe again and not accomplish anything in the interim." Persistence, thy name is Nigel.

Justine went a little pink. “I’m not wearing the clothes of your conquests. Though Jeeves may like dressing me for a change.”
“Besides, he’ll assume I’m a conquest either way. I also wouldn’t like to wast any more of the time of the Adventurer Extraordinaire.” She bowed at the waist with a flourish. “You ready yet, Marshal Thornheart?”

"Jeeves is a eunuch. I am not sure he enjoys dressing anyone," Nigel reasoned, though had never thought to ask the man. "As you say, though better to enjoy the reward if you are going to get the gossip either way."
He offered Justine his arm gallantly, signaling he was ready to depart if she was. "Shall we?"

Besides, don’t you find it more interesting when for once you get a no?” She took his arm And gestured toward the door. “Lead the way, Mr Thornheart.”

//////////
Another day, Silvia arrived to see Nigel. This time she wore a frilled shirt of green silk with lace cuffs, tan trousers and black leather boots that reached to her knees, and, as usual, her trademark hat. She wore her sword but left behind her dagger and her lute.

Jeeves ushered the young bard to the sitting room, where Nigel greeted her with two glasses of sherry. Unlike his last visit, he was actually fully dressed this time, though how long he would remain that way only the gods new.

"Thank you," she said. "Hello, Nigel."
She took a sip of the drink and then burst out laughing. "Sherry, Nigel? Are you my grandfather? That's what he used to drink." She took another sip and said "Thank you for agreeing to see me, anyway. How is the writing coming along?"

"I certainly hope not," Nigel remarked, without a laugh, the question making him look as if someone had stepped over his grave, nearly choking on his sherry. "Or else I will have to make some rather comprehensive edits in my current draft when it comes to my descriptions of you...as well as make alternate recreational plans for our journey."
"The writing goes splendidly, even with my new martial responsibilities. And your composing?"

"More slowly than I would like," she said with a sigh. "I have been very busy since we arrived. My mind has been occupied with so many other things, but I'm sure I will be able to sort it out once we're on the road and I'm free of the city's distractions and responsibilities. If not, I'll have to shut myself up in my lodgings once we arrive in Edysse and do nothing but compose, eat and sleep for a week or two until the thing is done."
She smiled brightly.
"But of course, I'd much rather be seeing the sights of Edysse. I promised to help you find a wife, didn't I? I can't do that if I'm shut up with my lute and a stack of paper all day long."

"I find I write best on the road myself," Nigel replied, sipping his sherry, as if his editors and their army of ghost writers didn't do most of the work. "If I am to be shut up in my lodgings for a week, it will be with company and far more diverting activities. Aha!"
"Due to my new responsibilities, I will have to expand our itinerary from a visit to the capital into a proper recruiting tour. How would you like to perform for the dwarves of Volomhold, elves of Azuria, and centaur tribes of the Assenian Fields after our sojourn in Edysse?"

Unsurprisingly, the suggestion made Silvia smile. She loved to travel and share her music with new audiences, and she would be travelling to places she had never been before. She knew little of centaurs, after all. and it would be interesting to learn more about their culture, and their songs and tales. But she was careful not to appear overly eager.
"I'd like that," she said. "I know plenty of patriotic songs that should win hearts and minds to your cause, and no doubt some fat purses of gold as well. I assume I'll be properly compensated though? Otherwise, I'll be away from a steady source of income for weeks."
