A few miles outside the west gates of the city, the estates turn larger and straddle both sides of the highway. The sixth of these is the Aurelion compound; situated on about thirty acres of rocky land with short trees scattered about and lichen covered coastal rocks and tide pools. At high tide nearly a third of the total land mass of the estate is swallowed by the sea.
The manor itself is stoutly built of dark grey stone and has two outbuildings and a stables. There’s a large garden surrounding the place and from the road the unmistakeable sheen of a greenhouse ceiling is noticeable; there must be an interior courtyard of some size. Two armed guards patrol the area at all times but there are clearly more around, and as it’s next to the most frequently traveled road in Innuria it’s also patrolled regularly by teams of the Emperor’s men.

Justine waited for Silvia in the shadows just outside the city gates. She was dressed in the requisite black and carried her fathers sword. If she was captured...if she was to die tonight...they would know her.

Silvia arrived a few minutes later. She was dressed in plain black, with her hair pinned to her head so it didn't get in her way. Her shirt was utterly plain, without a single frill. She never took chances on a job like this. She wore her sword and her dagger, and had concealed the magic lockpicks in a secure pocket.
She approached Justine and smiled at her. "Ready?" She whispered.

“As ready as I’ll ever be. There are so many guards...far more than any manor house inside the city. I hope luck will be on our side.” She closes her eyes and breathed slowly and deeply. “Lets go. She began moving forward toward the first house. The deeper shadows along the walls would provide more cover than the open road. “If you need to, take the lead. I haven’t done this in some time.”

"Alright. We'll need to look around for the most suitable entrance, anyway. We want somewhere that's easy to get into, and lightly guarded, but we'll have to think about getting out as well."

“We’ll have to go just after the guards pass. Do you think we’ll need to scale the wall?” Justine looked up, intimidated. “We can’t just use the front door.”

"It's possible," Silvia mused. "Have you looked it over before? Is there a postern gate, with fewer guards?"

Either woman could scale the wall in a matter of moments; they’re both rather agile. The guards are mostly focused on the front of the house facing the road and in back there’s just the roving patrol they can probably keep one step ahead of.

Justine saw clearly the several guards at the front. “We’ll go to the back. Maybe there’s a gate, maybe we climb the wall. Let’s go.”
Looking for more men. Justine crept along until her back was tight against the stones. When Silvia joined her, she moved quickly toward the back.

Silvia kept her eye open for danger as she crept after Justine. She wasn't going to take any chances, at least not yet.

They creep along the back wall until it lowers slightly; presumably it gives guests on the first floor a view of the sea. They’re about twenty paces from the walls and there’s a small back entrance that doesn’t have any visible guards, but the way is very open as there’s no cover between them and the door. Alternatively, they see a few windows closer to cover they may be able to climb through.

"Let's go in the window," Silvia whispered. It seemed like the best option. "Shall I go first?"

Justine nodded and followed Silvia to the window and waited for her to open it and go through. She peered inside before going back to watching for the guards.

"If anyone comes, stay out of sight," Silvia said. She climbed in the window and looked around.

Silvia slipped into the house after quietly opening the window. Her sword clinks a bit as she enters but she’s able to muffle it. She’s in a study of some sort with lines of books and maps and a few tables and chairs. There’s a armoire to her left and only one door leading to the main hallway which is slightly open.
