"Sure, I'll go after it," Silvia agreed. "Be careful." She set off in the direction of the necklace.

“Meet back here as soon as you can.”
Then Justine began to carefully climb the spiral stairs.

Silvia slides back down the ladder and into the dank tunnel they had emerged from. Her eyes take a second to adjust to the lantern-less dark but the opening at the far end gives at least a little visibility. She can see that way but not the glow from the necklace for another thirty feet probably. She feels a definite chill and a slight hint of wind from a quick movement in front of her whose source she can’t quite make out.
//
Justine headed up the stairs swiftly and quietly. She reached the top in just a few seconds and saw two tables with strange medical implements strewn about and a half-eaten apple on a desk. There’s a Closed door leading to another room on the opposite side of the room and a few bones on the table in no apparent order.

She crouched low and crept forward, quickly but quietly. She didn't want to attract the attention from any guards patrolling the tunnel, nor of any other bizarre creatures, particularly if they were like the one that she and Justine had just killed. She focused upon getting to the necklace as quickly and unobtrusively as possible.

She shuddered. Her sister would love to see this. Even now she could feel Juliette there, hungry to test the cruel-looking tools on living flesh. Justine wondered if the...thing...had been the one eating the apple. She truly doubted it. She had not even imagined that this kind of House of Horrors existed in the home of a prominent gentleman, much less gone unnoticed in the city of Bastion. But then...Maddy's existed as well. Bile rose in her throat as she remembered that which she would rather forget. She kept it down and crept toward the door, sword still bared, but held at her side. She listened to hear any sounds from the other side.
If all was quiet, she would slowly push the door open.

As Silvia makes it to the corner before the necklace chamber. She peeks around the corner and the necklace sat at its spot but the spot that had been in the ground has been kicked up into a cloud of ashen dust that gives the chamber the strange impression of a strobe light being limned by the azure jewelry.
//
Justine didn’t hear anything as she pushed the door open. The next room had a couple of large cages in the left corner, one of which had a man inside of it. He was pale and thin and seemed unconscious. The other side of the room has an open armoire with a genuinely vast selection of outfits and wigs. There’s also two small statues about eight inches high that depict what appears to be a naked male and female elf but with somewhat more feral features. The statues sit on a table directly across from her that has a few chairs and some books and writing implements and measuring tape like a tailor would use. It’s rather bizarre taken together.

The naked body of the man in the cage broke her heart. It was the asylum again. It was isolation and fear and cold and deprivation.
It was torture for her to walk past him and run a hand through the garments hanging there and move behind the desk to inspect the books and papers there. She would come back for him.

The books are filled with pictures and measurements and notes on different people. It’s even weirder than the rest of the room. Whatever this is looks like some really fucked up science experiment. She heard some noise downstairs but couldn’t immediately identify what it is.

Justine turned to a place where it wouldn’t be instantly noticeable and tore out a few of the pages. She rushed to a corner near the door and blew out the lantern. If it was Silvia, she would greet her happily, if it was not...well. There were likely worse things than that pile of ick downstairs. She spared a glance through the darkness to the man in the cage. Poor fellow.

The strange appearance of the ground took Silvlia by surprise but she had promised Justine but she couldn't see anyone else present so she crept forward, still being careful, and picked up the necklace.

Justine blew the lantern out and she heard a female voice mutter downstairs. “What now?” The person said in an irritated voice. Justine saw a reddish light glow under the door’s frame and footsteps started coming up the stairs. “Another one self destructed. Ugh.” Whoever it was, they were muttering as they ascended.

Silvia heads into the room and she gets to the necklace and picks it up. Her hand tingles as it touches the glowing jewelry. She heard a shout coming from the original house as someone finally noticed the disturbed solar they had originated from. The words are impossible to distinguish but it doesn’t take much imagination to guess what’s being said.

Justine realized she only had moments to hide herself. Into the wardrobe she went. Maybe she’d hear something or see something before she could flee or fight her way out...not that she wanted tot hunk about that possibility just yet. She folded the torn pages and crammed them into her bodice and waited with baited breath as she stared out through a small gap between garments.

The words are impossible to distinguish but it doesn’t take much imagination to guess what’s being said. She stuffed the necklace into her shirt and checked to see whether it still glowed. Somehow, she had to get out without being spotted. She headed for the direction in which they had come when they had first spotted the necklace.

The necklace glows even brighter as it touched more of her. Her shirt does cover the glow however. Silvia rushes back down the tunnel and the ladder is still there but something is now blocking the exit that had been at the far end. Up is her only choice in the heat of the moment.

Justine heard someone enter the room and click her tongue as she looked about. “Somebody’s been naughty,” she said with something more like a sigh of fear. “Where is it...?” She suddenly clutched her head with both hands and squealed. “I’ll come I’ll come!” She hissed, and Justine heard the commotion outside as the grounds finally awakened to the fact someone had entered the premises. She cursed and left as quickly as she had entered, rushing disown the stairs and out the door.

Justine waited til she heard the woman leave before she darted out of the wardrobe. They had to leave and fast. She stared at the poor withered man sadly. Kept like an animal...no surprise when the Lockhart’s were involved.
But she had to go. They had stayed too long already. She rushed down the stairs and waited in the dark room for Silvia too return.
