She sees Silvia as she rushed down and they heard a clanging sound below like armored feet were heading down the lower tunnel. There’s nothing they can immediately notice outside the door which is now open from the woman before’s abrupt departure.
Justine is able to swipe a small leather bag she doesn’t take the time to inspect but it is easy to conceal and won’t impede her movement.

It seemed like there was no time to question anything. So Justine just nodded to Silvia, stuffed the other item into her bodice with the papers, and ran out the door. She pulled up her cowl to cover her hair, though black hair and a black hood were not much different in the dark.
Once out, she looked for the quickest way to get over the wall and back toward Bastion...it at least to where their presence would be unremarkable.

Silvia gave Justine a nod to indicate that she had got the necklace. She too looked for the closest exit, at least, one that wasn't crawling with guards.

The women head out the door and turn toward the highway. The alarm is going but even the guards seem somehow reluctant to move from their scheduled rotations. They turn to pursue the ladies but only after they’re a full quarter mile away and already nearly invisible in the dark. It takes about fifteen more minutes of them slipping through other estate grounds and then finding a merchant caravan camped for the night before entering Bastion that they seem to have gotten away for good.

"Now where?" Silvia asked. "We should go somewhere safe to look at the things we found, and I could do with a drink as well. My place, or do you want to head to Ceutinde's?"

Justine put her hands on her knees and breathed hard. “That...thing. I think they’re doing experiments in there. Same as the asylum.” She shuddered. “Ceutinde’s. We need her to know. And I think we might need her to listen. Never been a better time to go to Edysse.”.

"Alright. Let's go. We should get to safety before discussing the implications." She felt a little sick as she contemplated the undead thing they had encountered.
