Justine felt relieved not to be recognized. Questions about her father might lead to questions about the asylum and then her sanity...she scanned the room again for familiar faces. None, thank the gods. If her sister showed up here...she didn’t like to think about that.
“Me and you?” Justine smirked into her wine. “Sorry, I know I definitely haven’t enough coin for that. Not in my wildest dreams. I’m sure you’re worth every penny, though,” she added reassuringly. She didn’t think the elf needed reassurance, but it was nice all the same. She thought so, anyway. “I’m just here to see whatever there is to see here in the city.”

With the comte seeking the attention of the elven woman, Silvia excused herself and wandered around to observe what was happening in the room. She decided to take a closer look at the skeleton she had observed earlier. The skeleton is humanoid but has several strange horn looking protrusions on its arms and legs and head. She feels the slightest chill even looking at the long dead monstrosity. “Blade demon,” a voice said from nearby her. It belonged to a man wearing a fairly ridiculous red velvet archers hat. “Worthy of a song it was in the taking.” He is reading something and drinking an ale, a bread knife his only apparent weapon. He is probably forty or so, the sort of hard cut man who would go looking for something called a blade demon. He removed his hat politely and his salt and pepper hair flashed in the window’s light. “If you ever see one I recommend running my lady.”

Ceutinde's shoulders shook with quiet laughter as she took another sip. "Well thank you again. But I'm not that kind of working girl. I have a little talent at healing and I make sure there's nothing too serious spreading around here. My place is up in Bastion. Where are you coming from?"

K'rull continues to just waddle to the back being careful to not spill the drink while looking anxiously at the crazy old guy following it with a notepad. Eventually they reach an open patio outside the back of the establishment where Tehol sits. "Oi, why you following K'rull you old geezer. Leave him alone." He says gesturing with his own mug, as the little pet finally makes it safely behind his masters leg where he sits down and starts lapping at the ale in the mug still eyeing the old man cautiously. "My my... Apologies, good sir. I did not mean to intrude. As a naturalist, the sight of such an exquisite Gnarriensis specimen completely removed from its natural environment... And not only that, also fully domesticate... Remarkable! I am out of words, sincerely." Archie said smiling at the man. He decided to put his incomplete sketch away and extended a hand in courtesy. "Dr. Archimedes Steller, Fellow of the Imperial Magicians Academy, retired Head of the Natural History Department. At your service."

She raised an eyebrow at him. She wasn't dressed like a lady so why had he addressed her as such? To curry favour?
"I'm a skilled swordswoman," she said. "But I hope I am not such a fool as to seek out a fight I cannot win. Did you kill this thing?"

“Me and my brother,” the man said with a nod. “I don’t know anyone’s fight such a beast alone.” He stroked his chin with two fingers. “I do believe I heard you song once upon a time in Edysse. Lot of you adventurous lot running around Valgard this last week. Been good for business so I can’t say I am complaining, but curious nonetheless.” He rose and offered a truly exaggerated bow. “But my manners. I’m Erastes Konstantis.” She has heard the name, she had stolen several of his paintings in her day from various nobles.

Tehol Nookington if you need the full name for whatever reason.” He says looking askew at the man’s notepad wondering where he knew the name from and why it was so familiar. “And this little guy is K’rull.” He motions underneath his seat where the thing is now dunking his head into the mug in order to get at the drink. “K’rull say hi to the old man.” He says reaching under the chair and getting a growl in response.

She tossed her hair. "I lived in Edysse for a few years, but Bastion is my home. For now, anyway." She leaned closer. "You certainly do look like the kind of man who can take care of himself, even against something as dangerous as that creature."

"Tehol, my boy! The stars align I our favour and destiny led this little creature to bring me to you. Remarkable!" Archie threw his hands in the air in celebration for having found the man he sought. "You are just the person I came here to find!
"I was a close friend to your mother. A most explendid woman, with a... Fantastic imagination." He opted for this description rather than 'a compulsive liar, with a penchant for embelishing her family's history'. "You might not remember this wrinkly old mug, but we met a long time ago. You must have been no bigger than little K'rull over there."
He turned his head upside down to take a look at the creature below the chair. "Hello, K'rull. Nice to meet you."

“I will confess your name had escaped me,” he admitted. “But I could never forget that voice or that silver dress.” He ran his teeth along his upper lip involuntarily as she leaned. “Soft men don’t survive long in Valgard,” he agreed. “But if you live in Bastion then you’ve learned that lesson many times over. What brings you to our lonely corner of the world? It’s like you’re a flower decorating a forgotten grave.”

She didn't want to talk about her real reason for visiting, so she smiled sweetly and said "I like travelling. I like Bastion but sometimes a body just yearns for new places and new faces. I hadn't visited Valgard for a few years so here I am. Besides, there are new audiences to conquer. I wish to be a living legend and I won't achieve that goal until I have sung in every city and every town in Innuria."

“Why then you absolutely must perform here!” Nikos said, clapping his hands once. “This isn’t the fanciest place in Valgard but I assure you we gather the most lively crowd. You’ll be the Talk of the city overnight I assure you!”

My partner and I go where we are needed. A long time ago, when I was very young, I lived in the capitol. Have you always lived in Bastion?”

She turned to smile at Nikos. "Perhaps later. The day is still young and I'll want a few more drinks before then. For now, I'm content to relax here a while, perhaps listen to any other performers who might come first."
