At the west side of the port sits the Ofyssey. It is a long and sleek vessel made of cedar and oak, three masts optimized for catching the winds of the uncertain seas. Eight gun ports sit on each side as well as one fore and aft to provide the firepower to deal with overly curious pirates or monsters.
As the adventurers approach in their ones and twos they see the captain fishing off the dock, a short blonde woman in her late twenties. A cutlass is stuck in the soft wood of the dock next to her and she is smoking some sort of pipe. The crew is mostly human but a half dozen dwarves and some sort of lizard like person round out the motley assortment.

Comte-in-Exile Damien Chevalier arrived shortly after the meeting with his sister. He approached the captain immediately and bowed deeply to her, using the courtly bow he was taught as a youth. It was the only thing he still remembered from an ill-spent youth. "Mon Capitan. I am Comte-In-Exile Damien Chevalier. I have just come from my dear sister." He admired the ship closely, "You have a magnificent ship." He gave her a warm smile.

The captain tipped her trifold hat and kept fishing. “Nice to meet you,” she said. “I’m Captain. And the Odyssey is as fine a vessel as you’ll ever see. Faster than the wind and fights like a dragon,” she added. “You seem to have arrived first so go ahead and pick an empty cabin. I’m going to warn you, you’re gonna have to share.”

Damien nodded and looked at the Captain with a smile, "Of course. I am quite good friends with the elven healer Ceutinde. Would you be so kind as to write her down as my cabin mate I would greatly appreciate that." He bowed to her again, and then made his way inside to select the largest cabin available. He was whistling as he boarded to the vessel. He made sure to introduce himself to all of the sailors he passed on his way inside.

His cabin has two bunks and a floor chest for each one to keep valuables. Dressers are nailed to the walls and otherwise it’s a perfect picture of 15th century ship life. He coincidentally is also close to the captains cabin which was obviously an accident.

Damien gets down on his knees and examines the door closely looking to see if there is a lock on the door.

He finds the lock easily enough. It isn’t super expensive and is easy to manipulate for someone like himself.

Damien leaves his belongings on one bed, and locked the door behind him. He walked to the Captain's quarters and knocks on the door. He casually looked around as he wait to see if the Captain would answer the door. He looked around for any crew as well. If he detected no one was around he would open the Captain's door and have a look around her cabin.

The master thief opens the door effortlessly and steps in. The cabin is about fifteen by twenty feet, and there’s a desk to the left with a logbook that has a lock on it. Her bed is way more comfortable than his and he sees some weapons and armor and personal effects. A painting of a kraken hangs behind the desk but most of her possessions are in various locked trunks.

Damien closed the door behind him but did not lock it. He walked over to the painting and checked to see if it moved to the side. Then if there was nothing there he just goes through the desk quickly looking for anything of interest and also a set of keys. He keeps an ear out for anyone approaching, and after searching a desk drawer he locks it back up as he goes. He doesn't bother searching her trunks, that would take too long.

The painting can move but it also on further inspection isn’t permanently attached to the wall, just hanging so it could be moved quickly. He rifles through the desk and finds a bunch of rare ink bottles and quills. He sees a couple of small books that could be diaries but they are numbered so presumably she organizes them regularly. Under her logbook is a folded up letter.

Damien can't but help reading the letter quickly then returning it to its place before leaving the cabin, and locking it behind himself. Then he would go up to the deck to met the crew.

The letter addresses the captain as “D” and requests the use of the Odyssey on an expedition to an unexplored archipelago with a hired group of strangers. She’s being paid a ahitload for the job and it’s signed by your sister at the bottom

Damien returns the letter and walked from the cabin. He paused long enough to lock the door behind him. Then he went up on top of the deck and looked around. He smiled at the crew and introduced himself to each one he passed.

He meets dwarves and some humans he almost immediately forgets. The first mate is a tall thin man named Kristos and he regards the thief suspiciously because, well, he’s a thief. Otherwise the captain is still fishing and greeting newcomers.
