Archimedes stood staring at the Captain for a while. It was a mix of disbelief, confusion, fear... A whole bunch of conflicting emotions about the route Demeter had just described. And then it hit him: the thrill. It was always like this, the first hit felt like a pinch to the stomach, but after a couple of heartbeats, he was struck by a blast of excitement. This was his calling, he could feel it running though his veins. Sailing into the unknown with a couple of interns and a troupe composed of the best of the best.
So many times had he jumped headfirst into an expedition that would likely see the death of him, and in every single occasion it had been worth it. This... This was the crowning of a life time of achievement, his coup de grace, his magnum opus. If he died here, he would be content about the life he had lived, and the adventure he was part of now. If he lived, well, he doubted anything would ever again top this. Not even Nigel could ruin it. If anything, the presence of his long time rival made it even better.
"And you were afraid that there would be fleets of mercenaries sailing after us if we let this information spread..." Archie finally spoke after two whole paragraphs of a useless internal monologue. His semblance was bright, his smile shining like a crystal Macaw flying in front of the sun. "I doubt there is anyone insane enough to willingly set off in a journey like this."
"Which makes it perfect! Imagine all the unknown flora and fauna that we will be able to catalogue!" He turned excitedly towards his interns. "Just think about all the insects! We are going to need every single one of our collecting jars! Sabrina, make sure they are intact. And also, get started on producing formaldehyde, what we currently have will hardly be enough... The reptiles! Imagine the reptiles!"

“The rest of the ship will be there later. We have more than a fortnight to explore.” Justine followed the King of Thieves to where the captain had gathered everyone. She listened closely, a little dismayed by the prospect of the trip now that she heard more details. Yes, she agreed the map would be most useful. With so much unknown, any certainty would be a treasure.
“I set out on the journey quite willingly,” Justine said with a frown, upset anyone, let alone this weird old codger, would imply that she was insane. Especially when she was the only person with any respect for his tea set.

Damien chuckled at Justine and leaned closer to her so it would be harder for others to hear, "You might be sane, but if you look around this crew it is filled with madness. Including the Good Doctor of course." Damien eyed the Doctor and said, "Why just look at him imagining reptiles." He looked back to the raven-haired woman, "I myself have my own rather complex issues, involving how damn amazing I am." He shrugged saying it can't be helped. "I am not going to mention anyone else."
"He was cunning enough to bring a support staff to go into the misty, dangerous, evil jungle. And I imagine they are doing this with no wage in mind. They call me a thief and people from Academies are rewarded. It defies understanding." He shook his head as his eyes studied the Good Doctor and his expendable grad students.

I’ll make sure you see the Nedrassian Serpent for another hundred gold pieces,@ she promised.

However, it was a Nedrassian Serpent we were talking here. "Well, of course! I will see that you are paid as soon as we return to civilization."

The captain nodded while the crew glared at the alchemist. “Consider it done,” she said. “Now go clean my fucking cabin, cabin boy!”

“Typical, that we are about to step onto a land with new and exciting creatures, and this old man wishes to murder and pickle the animals there” Thalia commented with distaste, also looking disapprovingly at the old man, she had not had anything previously against the man, but sh3 did not like that.

“A pickle sounds delicious,” Lazy Lenny mused our loud as the half elf sorceress spoke.

"Madam, you offend me if you think I will go around killing and pickling these animals." Archimedes said, indignantly. "There is nothing more beautiful than a bird of paradise in free in his own environment and you won't ever see me pointing a weapon at a living thing that is not trying to rip my throat off... In fact, even then, I might not. You direspect my century old curriculum if you believe so."
Archie refused to comment on the whole 'capturing them' part, because I was actually kind of true. But that was the way he operated, that was how the academy had operated for centuries. That was the best way to properly study them, and thus be able to better protect them.

“Excellent, if I see you doing anything to any of them then, I’ll feel at liberty to do the same to you, does that not sound fair?” She said with a half smile, looking him right in the eyes, “sorry if I offended you, I’ll be watching you work very carefully.” She said and crossed her hands over one another. “To learn from you,”
