Silvia had been baffled by the little speech in Elvish. Trained as she was to recognise metre and verse, she was sure it was poetry of some kind, but she had never possessed a talent for other tongues. She grinned when she realised what Herneiros had actually been saying. His elven father had clearly been quite a bad influence upon him. Or perhaps he had a better sense of humour than his appearance would suggest.
"Very pretty," she said. "Though I'd be careful where you recite the translation, if I were you."
She turned back to Konrad. "I'm sure you're right but I had much rather see the beast if I am to write about it." She hadn't always been completely honest with some of her songs, stealing a melody here, a couplet there, changing the words to famous songs written centuries ago, but she hoped to have some entirely new material from the expedition, material that would make her name. "A tale is so much more vivid if you have stared the enemy in its face, perhaps dealt it a mortal blow with your own hand."

Zavier’s head leaned alllll the way to the right, like a puppy seeking clarification on why he was being admonished. “Ummm...can I pick my instructor?” He finally said. "In Bastion, certainly. Only the one option if you want some private tutoring sooner, though." Ceutinde replied to Zavier, giving him her patented seduction eyes at only about 60% strength. Didn't want to give the boy fits. That was broken off by the sound of the elven verse, which brought out a delighted smile. "One of my favorites, Herneiros. Good that your family did not skimp on the classics." She rolled her eyes at Silvia's admonishment. Humans.

Zavier doesn’t have a real response to the elven entertainment moguls but he smiled wide and nodded. “That uh sounds really good, thanks.” Is all he can come up with. Even he thinks Silvia’s comment was a bit of a buzzkill.

Konrad smiled and offered a deep nod, conceding defeat in the "argument". "Of course, you are right. Does anyone know what a Nedrassian Serpent even is?" Konrad replied, "I confess I've never heard of one before."

"I assume it's some kind of snake that inhabits the water," Silvia said. "Perhaps somewhere between a snake and a dragon. It should be glorious, at least."

Herneiros prepared dinner for the crew using the fresh carcass of a shrimp monster, having of course dispelled any and all residual enchantments. He sung while cooking.
