Ceutinde was clearly pleased to see Justine arrive, and started to get up to greet her, but figured it could wait until after the meal. "It certainly does seem odd for shrimp to be so aggressive, regardless of their size. Is this coming from our erudite naturalist?"

“No, actually,” said Justine, swallowing heavily and reaching for a glass of the wine. She drank deeply as it was some of the best she had had since they set off. Luxury suited her. “It was one of the mages. Elise, I think she is called. She said they were magicked to be the size they were, and perhaps to make them aggressive as well.”

"Interesting." She turned to look up to the crow's nest, and called, "Kjell! Two things. First, come eat something. Second, what was that you took a shot at?"

"Some cultist looking fuck," Kjell called back. "He was casting something at us." She didn't want to eat the shrimp.

"Excellent. Then we are just eating ordinary shrimp and we will not be having bad dreams from accidentally eating soul still trapped in meat."
He took a sip before asking, "Cultist? Was he wearing jewelry or symbols?

"Thank you! Seafood's good for your eyes, you know!" Ceutinde answered before turning back to Justine. "There's your shrimpmaster. Hanging around the wrecks." She gestured toward the unmissable mass of former ships. "Must be a lonely life. Though I imagine that's the kind of thing that leads one to experiment on animals."

Justine was startled to see the elf in the crows nest, but not unsurprised. She looked toward Herneiros, then back to the meat on her plate. Her face paled. Herneiros knee how to make something sound truly appetizing. “I think I’ll have something else now. My eyes are good enough as they are.”
As she took some of the salad, she went on. “So you saw the person who sent them after us? How weird. Do you think he was on his own? Or should we expect more of them?” She gestured to the half eaten shrimp on the plate.

Herneiros laughed. "I promise, nothing on this table is dangerous. I cast a disenchantment spell before cooking."

She looked straight at him. “I don’t want to risk...nightmares.” He was very strange. “And maybe just serve the dinner next time. People don’t want to worry after they’ve already eaten your dish.”

"Well, there is fish too. Ordinary fish from ordinary ocean." Herneiros stood up, having had his fill of the enchanted wildlife.
"I will return shortly with quite mundane but quite delicious cuisine."

Ceutinde leaned in toward Justine, speaking quietly. "Do you get nightmares? Regularly? I can help with that, it's one of the most common symptoms we see at the House of P&R."

“Um...thanks...” said Justine as he walked away. “Well. We have so many different sorts of people on this trip,” she said to the women who remained at the table with her.
Ceutinde surprised her. “I do. Since I was young. My sister and I...well. It wasn’t easy growing up. What do you suggest?”

It was a sigh of incredible compassion that came out of Ceutinde. "I should think not. Well, either you're coming over here to stay or I'm going over there every night to make sure that doesn't happen. It's a simple enough spell, just makes sure you get a night's sleep without anything nasty creeping into your dreams."

Justine frowned. “It’s been long enough I just deal with them when they come. What exactly is the treatment you propose?” she asked, even though she wouldn’t mind having Ceutinde looking after her of an evening.

Herneiros arrived with fish and set down a very ordinary Innurian flounder cooked to perfection before Justine.
"There you go."
