She picked up the spyglass and raised it to her eye to inspect the hooded figure. The cloaked man has his hood pulled back so she can easily identify him, a blond haired man with a neatly trimmed goatee. He seems surprised she noticed him for a second then his rather handsome face has a flash of anger and he brushed his middle length hair from his nose. He makes an unfamiliar gesture with his hand and heads belowdeck of the wrecked ship he was watching them from.

He shrugged. "There is nowhere but the Mists. Everything else is either overcrowded or open water. And I am not called the Wild Sailor for a reason. I have no place in Imperial intrigues or whatever people do on Innuria for fun. Besides... there is still so much left to see. The Mist claimed cities and libraries and palaces... entire lands no one truly remembers anymore."

There is something...sublime about contemplating ruined civilisations and dreaming of the past, of a world we can never truly know. But tell me, then, mighty expert on the Mists. Can the Mist ever be truly conquered? Can the ruined places ever be restored to a shadow of their former glory?"

"Truly conquered? Perhaps. I have a powers for keeping the Mist at bay but not forever. Still..."
He threw all the unsavory parts in a bin, leaving only the choicest bits and the impressive carapace.
"I have not tried everything. We may yet surprise world once we reach cursed island."

"Let's hope so. Being mediocre is not an option." She smiled brightly at him. "So what happens now? She indicated the prepared meat.

"Butter, garlic, and flame."
Herneiros started the fire and began cooking the equivalent of shrimp steaks.
"You don't want to eat everything you kill in the Mist, but there's far more food there than Empire thinks."

"I'm trusting your judgement," she said. "You'll have to make sure we only eat what's safe."

"I won't be long here. Why don't you grab your famous whisky, gather our new friends, and I shall be shortly serving surf the size of turf."

She held the bottle up with a grin. "Alright, I'll see you on deck." She turned and waled way.

On deck, she looked for the rest of their companions.

Ceutinde happened to be stepping out of her cabin as Silvia walked past, and fell in behind the minstrel. "Well there's a bottle of something fun. You sharing?"

"Yes. "I've only got the one bottle but I thought we deserved a treat after our experience earlier. We need to gather our companions and we'll have a few drinks with the shrimp. Herneiros says it's nearly ready."

Ceutinde had always loved seafood. So what if it might be sentient? "Delightful. There's brandy and rum laid in below if we get through that. And I might have a few of wine stashed away somewhere."

Kjell knew a caster when she saw one, and it seemed this one's plans, whatever they were, had been foiled. Swiftly, she leaned her arquebus on the edge of the crow's nest, got to one knee, and using the spyglass as a scope, took the shot.

The arquebus makes a sudden crack of sound as she fired, but the shot spangs off the shipwreck, although the wizard does pause momentarily in surprise. He’s out of sight long before she can reload however.
Zavier leaped up from his sitting at the shot. “More shrimp!?”

"Excellent! You might want to keep that a secret until we need a bottle or two though. I'd hate to run out of liquor so early." She tensed as she heard the shot rang out and pushed the bottle at Ceutinde. "Stay low and look after this. I need to see what's happening." She crept forward, looking for a handy weapon.
