Tehol eyes the man a little skeptically, “And who might this target be?” "A shrimp... You will understand in a bit. I just need to study a live specimen..." Archie said hushedly. "That's just the first step though, things get a bit tricker later on."

“Heroes are not forged from those who concern themselves with what is necessary or good enough or the bare minimum,” Nigel replied, striking a heroic pose as he hastily wiped the bird shit from his pauldron, standing gloriously in the confetti of multi colored feathers. “Heroes simple do.” He made a mental note to remember that quote for his book. Wiping the bird shit and standing in the falling carcasses wake only adds blood and feathers to the strange cocktail on his shoulders. The sorceress thinks a moment. “A real hero kills violent, savage monsters for ladies, right?” She pointed to the weird creature that was near Tehol and Archimedes. “Killing that seems more likely to get my juices flowing.”

"Then clearly you missed my heroic slaying of those shrimp monstrosities, else I daresay you would be needing a mop. Aha!" Nigel glanced over to Tehol's strange pet, clearly considering her suggestion.

Elise waved her hand in dismissal. “Everyone did that. You don’t get to rewrite the book until we are home. And if you think a killer shrimp warms the loins then you must be a horror to take to a restaurant.”

"But not everyone did it with style!" Nigel proclaimed, before twirling his mustached in a devilish manner. "And few of my dates make it to the restaurant. The Adventurer Extraordinaire does not waste the initiative!"

Seduction: 89
Elise seemed somewhat indifferent to the concept. “Talk to me again when you’ve fought something that isn’t usually my dinner,” she said.

"I will keep you abreast of any developments," Nigel replied, with a grin like a cat with a canary. "Have an explosive evening, my lady." He gave her a wink that was not subtle in the slightest and went about his merry way.

"Well, no time to lose, lad!" Archie slapped Tehol's shoulder. "Meet us in my cabin... And make sure Nigel doesn't follow you."
Archimedes, the somewhat mad scientist went below decks to start is somewhat crazy experiment. Arriving at his cabin, he hoped to find his assistant with everything ready to start the procedures.

Sabrina has the shrimp corpse and the potions requested. “What’s the plan boss?” She asked. Lenny’s death fazed her not at all, it seemed. Occupational hazards were not uncommon in this line of work. She had noticeably changed her shirt to a green rather than a red one however.

"Harness the subject, let the leashes loose another so we won't strangle it once it morphs... Make sure they are tightly bound to the wall." While his assistant finished the preparations, the professor carefully set the little pink vial on his work desk, and, with a dropper, collected just the dose of the substance needed for a walk sized bird. "Then get the tranquilizer in the syringe for emergencies."

Sabrina did as requested and in just a minute Archimedes had his project assembled. All he had to do was add the pink liquid and Magic(TM) would happen. He feels the ship rocking a bit more than it had earlier.

"Huh... Please check it what was this disturbance with the ship's rocking patterns." Archie told Sabrina. "Don't be long, I will move on with the experiment."
Archie grabbed a the dropper and fed the bird drops of the Polymorph elixir to turn him into a Death Shrimp. He had the thick tranquilizer during in hand.

It takes only a few seconds for the bird to squirm and become a oversized mantis shrimp. It squirms and hisses and doesn’t seem capable of breathing air. Sabrina rushes up to see what was making the new waves given the lack of wind.

"Goddamint... They seemed to be doing fine when the came on board." Archie went to the door and shouted. "Ms. Melchior! We are going to need some buckets of water!! And get Tehol and the captain over here, as soon as possible. We might have to move it!"
"Fudge fudge fudge..." He paced around the room grabbing every recipient with water and flinging the content at the shrimp. "Relax, buddy. It will all be fine."
As he tried to provide the beast all its means for survival, Archie tried to see if he could learn anything from its behaviour or origin.

Its origin was fairly clearly the polymorph magic he had used, but it is fast and much stronger than he’d have expected. A tendril lashes out and smacks into the floor and makes a huge scratch in it. The beast was strong enough to crack wood using only its own power. The captain heard the commotion and came down with two armed sailors. “What the hell are you doing?!” She cried out.
