"Science!" Archie said half proud, half terrified of his own creation. He clinged tightly to the tranquilizer. "You told me to learn what I could about the shrimp, that is what I am doing, for Dynasts' sake!"
"Time to go to sleep, my dear." Archimedes tried to approach the creature and stab its soft abdomen with the tranquilizer syringe.

Hearing the commotion, Nigel burst into the room, struck a heroic pose without missing a beat, declared “Never fear! Nigel Thornheart is here!”, and began stabbing at the shrimp’s vulnerable underbelly with his sword.

Tehol who was actually in the room and leaning up against the door. So that no obnoxious by standards could gain admittance just continues watching the bird turned shrimp thrash about the room. And if by some miracle said obnoxious person does gain entrance to the room. He will prevent them from stabbing the creature.

Seeing Tehol block his way, Nigel could only assume he had been mind controlled by the monstrosity that had snuck aboard the ship.
He punched him in the face.

Nigel: 119/76/111 defense round 1 Tehol: 13 K’Rull: 122/136
Nigel’s gauntleted fist slams Tehol in the face and the beastmaster staggers backward and into the doctor. The shrimp doesn’t have a circulatory system that functions the same as a human and the sedative will take some time to work so it thrashed more and tripped Archimedes, who falls onto the now unconscious man. K’Rull only listens to one man who is now incapable of giving commands and he slams into Nigel’s side, biting and tearing with all hundred thirty pounds of muscle it possessed like a deranged Rottweiler. A strange smell fills the room as its growth hormones begin kicking in in reaction to the perceived threat.

Nigel brought his sword down on the rabid monster trying to tear into his armor like a can opener, thinking to himself that Elise was going to need that mop after all.
"Don't worry Archie! I'll save you!" he proclaimed, not realizing this was entirely the doctor's fault.

Archie looked at Tehol's limp, bleeding body. He stared at it in horror, digesting the scene before him. He had no intention of having this escalate this way. Nigel... Had he not intervened, he would have been able to control the situation.
"Stay away, Nigel! It is all under control. Don't you dare attack him!" He shouted as he crawled across the floor seeking his suitcase. There was potions in there that could help Tehol. "Give it another minute and he will be down."

Nigel looked from the wounded prone doctor to the rampaging shrimp damaging the ship to the monster clawing at his armor and decided Archie did not have a sound grasp of the current situation. Not everyone could be as level headed and clear minded as the Adventurer Extraordinaire.

Nigel: 177/162/121/144/129 K’Rull: 133/109 Jon’s Utter Failure: 166/149
Captain Demeter: 152/131/129 Sailors with guns: 99/125
Nigel hacks at K’Rull, who has difficulty fighting against the imperial’s enchanted armor. He smacks it on the head twice with his pommel to buy Space then Slashed it across the chest and deals a truly gruesome wound. He takes a solid strike to the cheek that will leave another mark in exchange but the strange creature pitifully mews and backs up...right into the shrimp’s tendrils. K’Rull‘s head is swiftly torn off by the enraged mantis shrimp from hell and its second tendril strikes a blow at Nigel, who is distracted and again too slow. The nearly supersonic whip finds the joint in his armor between elbow and ulna and his forearm spurts blood.
The captain and her men unload their guns into the monstrosity and the sound echoes ilwith a deafening crack in the cramped room, the shots blasting chunks from the table and wall.
K’Rull dead Nigel takes 19 more temporary damage and 5 mortal

When Tehol finally wakes up he cradles K’rulls body and unattached head in his arms while sobbing uncontrollably. After awhile he makes his way to the top of the deck and still holding his dead best friend and life long companion, jumps overboard to rejoin his friend in Valhalla where they will eat plenty of fish and drink plenty of ale.

"He's in league with the shrimp!" Nigel bellows. "Don't let him return to report to his crustacean masters!" He attempts to pull the suicidal Tehol off the railing and wrestle him to the ground.

"Shrimpy! Noooooooo!" Archimedes crawled beside the corpse of the dead first shrimp that had one been one of his birds. Tears ran through his face, something he had not even been close to doing for Lenny.
"You ruined this! The experiment was going just as planned! We could have learned so much from a live specimen... Damn you all." The old man barked at Nigel and the captain, pointing an accusing wrinkled finger at them.

Damien wakes up in his room and looks about. He cocks his head for a moment, and then rolls over. He stifled a yawn and closed his eyes slowly again. Must have been a dream.
