Konrad gestured to Justine that they should go around the rear of the tavern and come at the attackers from behind. As they arrived they noticed Ceutinde and the others. “Good to see you. There are men flooding into the back. You ought to run for the Odyssey!” She shouted over the storm to her friend and then began moving...but paused when she heard the rumbling. “What the hell is going on in there??”

"Thank you! I'm sorry." Ceutinde told her patient-with-benefits, hiking up her skirt for the run. She glanced back and her eyes went wide. "The good doctor did something. I don't know. It might be best for us all to fall back!"

As they exited, some men entered and began crossing the bar area. Archimedes chucked one of his small vials and a pirate laughed as it landed and shattered on the floor...revealing a small green blob. It looks like failed tapioca. The intruders just all laugh. Then it vibrates a little. Then a little more. Then it rolls over and over and touches a chair and the chair vanishes into the blob. The larger blob then absorbs the table and begins emitting a green light like a firefly as it builds mass. A pirate runs around it and the flubber sucks him in too and begins bouncing about. Anything organic is converted to its biomass and inorganic metals and the like float inside of it like mosquitoes trapped in amber. The pirates turn tail and rush right back out the rear exit as the magical abomination grows steadily out of control.
This is all well and good, until the flubber turns towards its master as it dislikes being far away from him.

"Flubber, stay!" The professor commanded firmly, trying to see if the green ooze responded like a sapient being. It had been years since Lord Attenshire had given him the Flubber recipe, and he had never actually tried using it. Especially given the fact that his tutor had specifically told him to only use it in the most dangerous of situations (fact which, Archie had forgotten until the current moment).
"RUN!" Archie shouted at his companions. He took steps back, trying to increase the distance between him and the blob. "To the ship, now! Go go go go! Don't look back;"

"Go!" Silvia yelled, gesturing towards the others, but keeping an eye on the strange substance. She had never seen its like before, yet it made her uneasy. She stood ready to run but first she wanted to make sure the others did so.

Ceutinde grabbed Justine by the arm and started to sprint toward the docks as it became obvious that the tavern was not going to survive.

Tehol just shakes his head and turns around to head back the way he came. Though admittedly more urgently.

Justine didn’t ask questions and just ran to the ship. There was a lot of running today.

The green ball of death grows larger and larger as it swallowed wooden beams and doors and floorboards. A few coins jiggle about it and some pirate weapons and even a gold tooth, amusingly. Sabrina’s sketchbook will undoubtedly become a thing of nightmares. As it gets bigger it seems to grow more and more sentient, now lashing out with pseudopods to absorb living beings in an effort to manage its insatiable hunger. The artificial beast knows nothing save the desire to consume. Only a fool would unleash the horror of worlds that is flubber.
“I hate this fucking voyage,” Demeter cursed as she saw the goo eating the railings leading up the rock. Little Nigel barks out a barrage and grapeshot kills two more men and blasts a chunk off the green slime beast. Zavier runs from the Tranquility toward Kjell and Damien seeing as everyone else forgot about them with a plank to try helping them escape the ever-stranger confrontation.

"What have I done?" Archie muttered under his mustache, staring in disbelief at the monstrous blob growing before his own eyes. He had no idea he would unleash such an unnatural monstrosity into the world... This was definitely far from the emergency his tutor had originally envisioned.
"Flubber, no! Put it down!" The professor stood his ground, firmly trying to command the blob as it grew in size and gained sentience. If he could only deactivate the situation... He would never forgive himself if Flubber went out of control. "Your master is commands you, Flubber. I ORDER YOU TO STAND DOWN!"

Flubber stopped and began wobbling as Archimedes admonished it, then it slowly began shrinking. After a minute or so its consistency changed and it sloughed all over in a great greasy pile of muck and metal and stone.

As Justine boarded the ship she almost saluted Nigel. “I’ve never been happier to see you in my life, Mr Thornheart. I could nearly kiss you for the cannon fire back there!” She turned back to see the great...thing absorb men and buildings alike.
“Are they still coming? I can’t think we’re in the clear just yet.” A moment passed in which she looked around at her other companions, favoring Konrad with a smile as she recalled how they had cut the men down like they were nothing. And then she realized two were not among their number. “By the lady, we’ve lost Kjell and Damien!”

“what the hell is that thing and how do we kill it?” Konrad yelled broadly as they reached the Odyssey. “And where did the professor get it?”
He wished he’d paid more attention to his guardsmen trying to instruct him on the use of firearms, but he was hopeless with anything but a sword, which left him largely out of the fight at the moment.
