“Let’s just try. We can be quiet and use cover until we are sure it’s safe. I don’t intend to run in screaming my name like an idiot.” She didn’t look at Nigel, who probably wouldn’t even realize she meant him. “Let’s go. Elise is in, Ceutinde is in, I am in. Any more takers?”
She looked at Herneiros strangely. “I don’t know what you’re talking about but I hope you come too.”

Silvia looked around the group. "As several of you are already going, I'll volunteer to stay behind, unless I need to be there for a specific reason. We can't leave just one or two people here alone., and I know much more about swordplay than sorcery."

“I’ll go, in case there is trouble.” She said, Thalia did not, however look as if she believed they could be quiet, she looked to hereiros and continued in elvish, this way we can place them strategically before we leave.”

"Since Ceuntinde is going, I'll stay with Silvia and keep an eye on our wounded friend." Archie said, still a bit shaken by his own story.
The old man scrambled through his belongings and produced a palm-sized glass vial, filled with a tar black substance.
"Nightstalker... This should come in hand for a cover mission." The professor carefully handed the flask to Thalia.

“Then let’s go.” Justine started leading the small group toward the ship, treading carefully and using what cover she could find.

Ceutinde followed, but avoiding attention was not her usual M.O.

Silvia grinned at Dr Stellar as they remained behind (presumably with some of the others). "This is a strange place, isn't it? I almost miss the pirates. At least I know how to kill them."

Herneiros yells, "Stop!! We have a plan to make the ship easier to raid."
And then Herneiros addressed the gathered adventurers, in clear and perfectly understandable Imperial.
"In my possession are fifteen Mist artifacts. Now, we have two options before us. First, we can destroy them now. This would seem like the simplest option, but I believe we have an opportunity to make our lives easier."
He pointed in the direction of the enemy ship. "We are currently unable to see inside the ship. There could very well be a full company of mercenaries in there, or just a skeleton crew of pirates, or who knows. If we investigate the ship now, we would very likely be facing terrible danger in unknown territory. However, I will tell you what I do know. I know that we can place these stones onboard the ship... let the monsters spawn upon the deck and deal with whatever mortal threat is still within... and then wait for me to regain my strength so I can bind the creatures once more, thereby allowing us to explore the ship at our leisure."

"Are you saying... these things spawned the Mist creatures and the Mist?" Kjell asked, stepping forward to wherever they were all gathered.

Ceutinde turned, her lip curling as he explained the idea. "There are people on that ship. Live people, wounded people, dead people, but people nonetheless. Call me soft-hearted, but regardless of their opinion of us, I am not supporting any plan that involves using those things against people. Perhaps your father should have brought you to civilization from time to time."

Silvia looked up as Ceutinde spoke. She had expected the others to have headed off already. "Should we be using those things for any reason? They're obviously dangerous. Even leaving aside the fact that there are people on that ship, can we be sure those things will do what we want them to? They might kill one of us."

"These cultist fucks," Kjell added, motioning with a nod to the woman in the grey cloak someone had for some reason healed, "are with the wizard I shot back at Asanar. If these artefacts spawn Mist, sending them to the ship would likely just give them back to their owners. They should be destroyed."

"Are you saying... these things spawned the Mist creatures and the Mist?" Kjell asked, stepping forward to wherever they were all gathered. "Thalia and I believe they're more like eggs or vessels. Not responsible for the Mist at home, but rather some wizard's attempt at harvesting them... evidence suggests this happened hundreds of years ago and have nothing to do with our enemies. " He turned to Ceutinde. "I am sorry if my actions horrify you, but I was employed to keep this party alive. Brutality is a natural component of survival and if it keeps you from getting wounded again, then so be it."

"I appreciate that the ends can justify the means, but not all means are equal. We should not lower ourselves to using the thing that has destroyed everything as a weapon. Throw the stones at a wall or off a cliff. Let there be a little bit less Mist in the world." She started back along the path.

Kjell watched the other elf go before turning to Herneiros again; though she agreed with the healer and the bard, it was for another reason. "You mean these things have been lying around here for hundreds of years?" she asked, frowning slightly in confusion. "How can you tell?"
