"We found a very, very old tome beside it... although..."
He looked at the unconscious woman. "Does anyone have smelling salts?"

"You didn't question her?" Kjell asked, thought a moment and walked over. She crouched down next to the woman and slapped her very lightly in an attempt to wake her up.

"I might have something here for you, lad." Archie considered speaking against Herneiro's plans, but considering what had happened with the Flubber... The professor was lacking a bit of the moral high ground to do so.
The old man dug into his suitcase trying to find some substance asking to smelling salts.
"Well, this is adventuring for you... I'd rather stay here with demons, but with the feel of the wilderness against the soles of my foot rather than in a tavern surrounded by thugs." He answered Silvia while searching for the substance. "To each their own, I guess."

After a few tries the woman blinked her eyes open. “Hmm...?” She grunted.

"Where'd all the artifacts come from? The gems?" she asked the woman, hovering over her.

The Wild Huntsman shrugged. "She was already unconscious. And my father said that while it is perfectly acceptable to cheat in battle, one doesn't abuse a defenseless creature."
Herneiros crouched beside the pair of women, bag in hand. He held up a Mist stone for illustration.

“The what?” She asked, her eyes struggling to focus. “The gems? The weird...green ones? Some guy had them. Never saw’em before yesterday. He had a big box and he ...uh, some of’em like planted them around. Like they were sowing a field like.”

His eyes narrowed. "What guy? Was he elven or human? Did he have a name?"

“I’m sure he has a name but he never said it. Everyone else just tried to avoid him. I think he’s human, too small for an elf. Wears a grey cloak and didn’t have too much else to say.” She coughed. “Can I have a sip a’water please?”

Herneiros stood up, then handed her a canteen of water from his own belt. Then he took the bag of stones, put it in a spot where the explosion would do the least damage to people and buildings, and fired a Stone arrow to crush them from a distance.

The sound of the detonating jewels is deafening but after fifteen seconds or so the echoes cease and there’s a new blasted out hole in the rocky ground.

Kjell waited until the woman had drank the water, not bothering to look at the explosion once the intent of Herneiros's actions was clear. "That man. Where is he now?" she asked.

“Somewhere north of here,” she whispered painfully. “I don’t know where. He’s really fucking fast. Supernatural like.” She coughed again a few times after sipping the water.

Kjell waited for her to stop coughing, studying the woman's face closely. "What about Archelaus, where is he?" she asked, looking her in the eye. "Is he watching?"

Herneiros was now standing with his arms crossed nearby, eyes closed as he considered her words.
