Kjell waited for her to stop coughing, studying the woman's face closely. "What about Archelaus, where is he?" she asked, looking her in the eye. "Is he watching?" “The handsome one?” She said. “He got shot or something. Spent the whole voyage in a cabin. I only know his name cause at the start of the voyage he’d drink with us commoners and play cards. He and boss man had some sort of argument and I ain’t seen him since we disembarked.”

"Boss man is... the Mist sorcerer?" Herneiros asked gruffly.

Ceutinde and Justine make it to docks about fifteen seconds before they hear a bunch of explosions. There’s no sign of life on the vessel and while Justine May have been concealed, Ceutinde is tall and not prone to inconspicuousness. The gangplank is down so they can walk aboard apparently unhindered.

"Boss man is... the Mist sorcerer?" Herneiros asked gruffly. The woman nodded. “He seemed like the boss to me. Archelaus is the only one who didn’t do what he said. There’s a sorceress with them too but everyone else is a mercenary like me.”

"I think one typically asks permission to come aboard." Ceutinde whispered, mimicking Justine and keeping her hand on Kjell's pistol, "But given the circumstances it seems odd to stand on ceremony."

“You have been forthcoming. Thank you,” Kjell said evenly, and slowly rose. She unholstered her gun and looked to Herneiros to see if he had any further questions.

Elise followed the two women aboard and they looked about. The deck is strewn with litter from the Odyssey's bombardment, and the door leading to the stairs going to the hold is slightly ajar, but there’s no sign of life or sounds outside the waves crashing against the hull.

"What?! No no no..." Archie scrambled to his feet and tried to position himself between Kjell and the prisoner. "Pardon me, ma'am. But I cross the line at executing prisoners. Especially since she is defenseless, and was just a hired gun of our true foe."

“I guess we go down.” Justine smirked at Ceutinde because that was definitely an innuendo.
She peered down into the darkness. “Got any spells for light?”

Elise whispered for a second then a small bluish light appeared at the bottom of the stairs. “It’s sort of conspicuous,” she admitted. “But it’s all I got.”

"Anytime, darling; you first, me first, or both at once?" Ceutinde replied, "But no, I never had any talent for light. Elise?"

“Thanks. Should be good enough.” She nodded to Elise and then began to descend the stairs, stepping as lightly as she could for a minimum of creaking. She only had a slight blush and a wink for Ceutinde before they went.

Elise just rolled her eyes. Justine crept down the stairs and reached the bottom, her own breath and beating heart the only sounds for now, but she does notice a particular smell, like some sort of incense burning. It’s stronger the farther down she goes.
When she reached the blue light she was in a narrow hallway that had two closed doors, one on each side, before opening up fifteen or so feet down into a hold or galley.

This was just a job for me!”
