"Kjell! Back in line!" Nigel barked, as the elven sharpshooter broke ranks and jeopardized the integrity of the gunline. Not wanting to waste any more ammunition or gunpowder without knowing if he was landing his shots, he took out his arquebus and moved up to the position Kjell had vacated besides Silvia and Justine. His eyes strained as he searched for movement in the mist and leveled his firearm.

Kjell attempted to sneak to the left and let the four pass with the intent of shooting at them from the side once they got to Justine and Silvia’s range and were fired upon by the two.

Tehol seeing if there were no more shots towards the hourglass, continues to make his way there under the cover of the mist to see if he could spot the witch responsible.

[The Forgotten God]

Tehol and Zavier continue creeping up toward where the hourglass had been, and finally they see it, running rapidly out of the blue dust. It’s now aimlessly flying into the air unchecked. They don’t see the sorceress but they do see the other mage Herneiros has mentioned, guarded by two soldiers. He seems to be staring into a bowl for some reason. They are about one hundred meters away but there’s no cover any closer.

Kjell is able to signal the others on the hill of the approaching enemies and she makes herself as small as possible so the wary gunmen don’t notice her (pass stealth). They continue their advance until they are past her and nearly to the hill, using rocks as cover. That, however leaves them exposed to the elven sniper and the battle begins when she draws a bead on one and squeezes off a shot. The ambushed react to the threat by returning fire but they don’t seem to have actually noticed her specific location (-20 to first shots). They also have to expose themselves to fire from Nigel and his Mighty Thornheartettes.

The spider from hell noticed Herneiros as it seemed to be gathering strength and it screeched a deafeningly loud war cry as its dozen legs burst into motion. One of its red eyes glows and turns black as a strange fiery projectile flies out towards him, but the elf trained hunter managed to barely dodge it. It leaves a scorched hole eight inches deep in the ground when it strikes.

Kjell’s opening shot strikes a man center mass and he raised his pistol for a random shot which went harmlessly wide as Nigel puts another shot into his back. The second man fired and his bullet struck close enough to send a few rock shards flying around Kjell. Heading the shots ring out the two heavier armed mercenaries rush the hill to close the distance before they reload. Silvia and Justine aren’t used to firing downhill and both fail to adjust their aims properly as their shots miss. The uninsured gunmen draws a pistol and a sword and runs towards where he thinks Kjell is to not give her time to reload. The mercenaries call for aid from the remaining fighters.

[Tehol Nookington]

Tehol sends Korobas towards the mage, while turning to Zavier, "Target the two soldiers, draw their attention. I'm going for the mage." He then draws his bow and several arrows, he focuses his mind to try and mind blast the focusing mage at the same time that Korobas attacks him, followed by an arrow.

The hydra rushed in as Zavier cursed under his breath and fired his pistol. A soldier moved to intercept the hydra as Tehol focused his mind on his enemy’s then pictured stomping on his brain as violently as possible...

Zavier’s bullet strikes the mercenary fighting Korabas’s shoulder. The hydra’s numerous heads bite and snap and two find purchase in gaps in the man’s armor. He slashed down over and over, leaving several wounds in the serpent’s side that already begin closing. Tehol feels the wizard reel from the assault but after a second he makes a motion and electricity builds in the air, then strikes in a jagged arc towards the beastmaster. Tehol’s hair stands in end and his heart skips several beats at the onslaught.

Kjell switched her arquebus for the two-barrelled pistol to dispose of the second gunman. If that didn’t take for some reason, she’d draw the axe.

[Geoffrey Ravenhurst]

The Huntsman is fairly confident he could kill it himself if he had more time and resources, but unfortunately, he has neither of these things. So he begins sprinting towards the firing zone for Little Nigel, pausing occasionally to shoot an arrow if it starts losing interest.

He stays tangible, as he knows he can't risk the creature losing him in the Mist.

Tehol recovered and looses two arrows in rapid succession that the sorcerer fails to dodge. As he falls he finished his curse and the beastmaster and Zavier felt their nerves spasm. The dragon’s familiar had blocked the charge of the approaching soldier and a burst of speed enabled him to completely put match his surprises foe. Korabas takes a nasty hit that cuts one of his heads off but he snags his victim’s femoral artery and the already wounded man starts bleeding out violently.

Curse: for one hour Tehol and Zavier roll at -10 and suffer all damage as mortal.

Kjell draws with her double barrel and unloads on the approaching man, who staggers as the blast hits him. His return shot barely missed but his momentum carried him forward to melee.

Kjell sidesteps the man’s initial charge and her axe gouges deep into his side. He is considerably heavier than her in his studded armor however, and he used his pistol to knock her axe aside while his blade cut into her leg.

Silvia’s gun jammed as she went to reload, a not uncommon occurrence , and her enemy is on her, forcing her into melee combat. Nigel and Justine both finish reloading and fire at their charging foe.

The man is nearly at Justine as they finish and Nigel has to risk a safer shot to ensure he doesn’t accidentally hit her, making his go slightly wide, but Justine blasts the man at point blank range, which will definitely ruin his armor.

Honestly, the man would have been better served just getting shot at, as the singer kicks his feet out from under him as he jumps toward her shallow trench then proceeds to essentially butcher him.

Herneiros legs it as fast as he can, and it’s fortunate he’s got a two hundred meter head start because the beast moves stunningly fast, in an alien way, each leg moving to the right as well as forward to expose another “eye” to fire its fiery missiles. Herneiros feels the heat from one but the spider fires two more past him, towards the adventurers on the hill. One barely misses Thalia and Ceutinde while the other lands right next to Elise, burning her robes and cutting her legs with shrapnel. Herneiros is rapidly back in sight of the melee and he sees the soldiers on the hill, as well as Kjell fighting a man while another armsman approaches her from the rear. Another heavily armored man is rushing toward the hill to help his two friends.
