Kjell takes another hit to her ribs which is going to leave a bruise and the heavier man goes to tackle her, but she throws her axe to distract him while her sword comes out and she lunges into his charge, her blade catching his hip near the crotch and again at his throat. Blood sprayed from his carotid as she managed to finish him off. He collapsed and brought her sword down with his weight for a second and as she withdraws it she heard a man coming from behind her...

[Ceutinde]

Ceutinde let out something between a gasp and a shriek as the spider-creature attacked Team Wizard. She did her best to pat out the flames on Elise while whispering a prayer to Sylveria and willing the sorceress's gashes and burns to heal. The elf used a handkerchief to dab at the slow trickle of blood that started from her nose.

Kjell winced at the pain in her side; the ribs in there had probably not properly healed from the last encounter yet. She bent down to dislodge her axe from the gunner’s knee (hopefully at the exact same time Herneiros shot an arrow in their direction) and wiped the blood off her face with her forearm before turning around to engage the next goon with the intent of circling around him to put a human shield between her and the giant fucking Mist spider hurtling down the field.

Justine laughed as she and Nigel made short work of the man. Blood, so much blood...mostly slowly tricking from the speared corpse that had once been a living being. Only then did she notice the terrifyingly huge spider-thing advancing on them and her laughter died in her throat.

She and Demetri had always fled from things like this in the mists. Nigel would know what to do, Reclaimer that he was. She decided she would follow him in and steeled herself for attacking the thing head on if that was what it came to.

Herneiros’s arrow lanced our and struck the running warrior in mid stride and he stumbled for two steps, giving Kjell the time she needed to free her stuck weapon. The soldier sees that she’s hurt and that gives him the confidence to continue on.

Kjell unloads her fury on him and he falls back, his shield stopping her offhand blade while her axe finds purchase in his armor. As he stumbles she moves in for the kill but he suddenly lunges forward and slammed her with his shield as hard as he could, the bottom edge of it ramming into her lightly armored belly.

Herneiros sprinted forward and made it to the hill where his allies were. The spider stopped after its fiery barrage and its eyes all begin glowing but it remains still.

Zavier takes a horrible cut from the enemy facing him and the curse makes it bleed freely. He stabs the man in the side and then Tehol buries two arrows into his back and he falls dead.

Korabas takes a mental command from Tehol and leaves the wounded mercenary behind to slither towards the injured mage. The wizard tries casting a spell to blast him away but his panic gets the better of him and the hydra feasts upon his bones. The snakelike beast is already healing up from the wounds he took earlier.

At first, Kjell said nothing because air had been knocked out of her lungs, but as soon as she was able to breathe again, she sent a "mother" and seconds later, a delayed "fucker" his way. She stepped back and began circling around, waiting for him to attack rather than wasting her energy.

Kjell goes to circle and the man lets out a breath to try recovering to attack, but she wings her axe directly into his face. It hits at the right orbital bone and his iris explodes with the rest of his eye. He takes one sort of halting step forward then falls down...right onto the axe. That thing is gonna need some serious cleaning.

Silva was drenched in enemy blood but the bloodlust gripped her hard enough that she didn't care about the blood and gore that covered her. She let out a yell "For Innuria!" and charged at the terrible spider. As she ran, she called to Justine and Nigel "Help me cut the damned thing's legs off. It can't fight when it's crippled."

Her plan was to disable the spider so that it was unable to stand.

Suddenly, Herneiros was no longer running and was instead kneeling. This was different from the spell in the village. That one would have little effect on this creature beyond irritating it, so instead, he tried a more offensive tactic.

Through an absurdly complicated spell that involves certain metaphysical concepts that many at the Academy would find farcical and impractical and possibly outright bullshit, the Wild Huntsman began to leech certain Mist from the nearby area and sending it into the Heavens like so much sinister steam.

"I can only corrupt its spectral shell for so long!! Blow it to fucking pieces!!"

“Fuck’s sake,” said Kjell and kicked the man over to retrieve her axe. She sheathed both her weapons - there would be time to clean them later - and surveyed the battlefield as she began reloading her rifle. Charging the unmoving spider was not something she would’ve done, personally, not when you could attack it from afar, but to each their own. As someone screamed somewhere to her left, it occurred to her there had been other people on the stealth team. She began moving that way, though kept her arquebus trained on the spider, ready to stop and shoot when whatever Herneiros was doing took effect.

Justine watched Nigel go and quickly changed her mind about rushing in. Instead, she advanced some to a better position and got down on the grass, her sword behind her as she quickly loaded and leveled her arquebus it the massive horror.
