Olivia shrugged. “I can spare a few minutes for a VIP,” she said. She licked her lips as she sat down. “So what’s your story? Mister Jon doesn’t bring just anyone into the private club.” She winked. “Not that anyone would confuse you as just another merchant.”

Gregori grinned. “I’m very talented and I have friends everywhere. Friends who do all sorts of things,” he said. “I’m sure your family is much the same way.” He tugged her into him. “And I know what I want and how to get it, and I prefer to get my way.” "I'm sure you do," she said. She moved back a little. Silvia was the kind of woman who went for the things she was interested in too, but she didn't want Gregori, not like that, and she had to give him a sign. "Your friends must be very clever - not as clever as you, of course. Do you have ships too? I never thought much of them but Captain Jean's ship was very impressive." Gregori seemed a bit annoyed she had moved back but he still kept up the front. “They’re tools, mostly,” he said. “Means to an end. Of course I have ships. Even that little pirate admiral doesn’t have a fleet like my merchant armada,” he stated. “So how about it? You sounded ready to go get fitted for the jewelry you deserve a second ago?”

I mean...I'm not worthy." She cast her eyes down in a show of maidenly modesty. "You flatter me, Gregori, but we only met today. I'm sure I don't deserve your generosity."

Gregori shrugged. “I’d rather party with you on the beach, or in my cabana,” he said. “I’d like to be a good host and show you the,” he put his other hand on her waist, “possible. Time.”

Silvia was annoyed and her skin crawled as he put his hands on her with her consent. Her fingers itched to slap him. He was clearly lying about the tiara and just wanted to get her clothes off. But she didn't want to anger him while she was almost naked and had no weapon to hand, so Roxanne should continue to be ditzy.
"I thought you wanted to go to the jeweller's?" She said. "We can't possibly do both of those at the same time. Though whichever you choose, I should like to dry off and get dressed again."

Gregori shrugged. “Very well. It’s getting colder anyway,” he said. He slid his hand down to hers. “The fire should be getting lit soon.” He had the annoyed tone of a petulant child who had gotten a hand slapped in a cookie jar.

"Oh, I'm nobody, dear. Just run a little hospital in Bastion. The name's Ceutinde. Charmed." She turned to look at Jon as she continued, "But pray tell, who does Mister Jon tend to bring into the private club?"

Olivia shrugged as the dancers performed. “It depends,” she said. “Usually just those silly merchant friends of his, or some ditzy noble who thinks she’s being shown the wild side.” She giggled. “But you, now you’re something different.” Jon glanced over.
“You know I can hear you don’t you?” He asked mildly. Olivia kisses her finger and put it on his mouth.
“Yes dear and we are all very impressed your ears work. That’s why I like you. The only man who listens.” He rolled his eyes and went back to the show with his hand on Ceutinde’s leg.

He slid his hand down to hers. “The fire should be getting lit soon.” He had the annoyed tone of a petulant child who had gotten a hand slapped in a cookie jar. "Yes, that sounds pleasant." Silvia wondered if she should play up to him but she couldn't quite bear to do it at the moment. She'd reluctantly come to like Robert, and had become attracted to him, but she wasn't attracted to Gregori, either physically or mentally. She wanted to learn more about his business deals, but not if it meant forcing herself into an unwanted sexual encounter. Silvia had too much respect for her own body to do that. "I think the excitement of the day is getting to my head," she said. "I shall feel more the thing once I am dried and dressed and have a drink in my hand."

Gregori nodded and let her head back. As she passed by Marcus he looked at her and narrowed his beady eyes. He got a devilish grin then jiggled his disgusting belly at her. Gregori didn’t seem inclined to respond to the clear crudeness. He heads toward his cabana while she has a chance to go get changed in peace. She doesn’t see Ceutinde anymore but Robert and his wife are drinking with another woman and Jean is in a corner speaking to two men.

Silvia briefly considered approaching one of the tables but decided instead to dry off and get dressed straightaway. No more had been said about changing into a different dress so she put her red one one, and made sure to strap her dagger to her thigh, twirling several times to make sure it was appropriately concealed. When she came out of the changing room with her damp hair wrapped in a towel, she looked around to see if anyone took note of her arrival.

No one seems to have taken notice of her arrival initially but she could swear her clothes had been slightly rearranged. Nothing is missing though.

Silvia called for a drink at the bar then settled down to wait for Gregori. She didn't want to flirt with Robert and his wife, and she couldn't stand to talk to Jean while she was still pretending to be Roxanne.

Ceutinde's own hand was on Jon's knee, and started to move slowly up his leg. Her attention remained on Olivia. "And how often is he in here with those ditzy nobles? Am I sitting naked in a booth with some shiftless playboy layabout?"

“Would that bother you?” Olivia asked. “But no, it isn’t too often. He has better things to do apparently,” she said in mock frustration, tossing her hair over her shoulder. “I think it’s high tome he brought in someone interesting.” She kissed her again. “But I’ve got to get back to work. Those taxes don’t pay themselves!”
Jon chuckled as she got up. “A ringing endorsement if I’ve ever heard one.”

As Roxanne waited she saw Marcus stumble in laughing. He winked at her. He winked at her and she saw two of the servers talking to a violent-looking man and pointing at her. Her mind went to the disturbed knife.
