Zavier nodded. “We can use it together but it can get fairly awkward. Sometimes if you use it as a pair your memories sort of..bleed into each other’s. And you’ve got some memories I’m sure you don’t want me experiencing,” he laughed. "A few, yes." She grinned at him. "I'll wager the same, as well. Do yo have any other strange tales to tell me? I'm always after more fodder for a song."

One eyebrow cocked up, clearly finding his penalty overly tame, even as his hands roamed over her body unchecked.
“My turn...hmmm. I will have to give you another hard one. Can’t let you win.” She winked and looked thoughtful again. “Alright. Here we are: the first time I opened my eyes was in Lockhart Asylum. What do you think?”

"I hear it..." Herneiros didn't like it. "Collect your stuff and keep it close. We may have to abandon ship..." Fortunately, Herneiros kept his baggage on deck and prepared his bow and quiver. “I have everything here,” said Kjell, who was already wearing basically everything she owned. Her journal was downstairs, but in an abandon ship scenario, saving it wouldn’t have mattered anyway. She reached over and took back the bottle for another swig. “I still maintain we’re too small game for it to pay us any mind,” she said, though took her arquebus off her shoulder. “Ah shit,” she muttered as if remembering something, and looked around for a torch or something to signal the other ship with. Would probably be better if no more crossing took place.

It’s...i was different then.”

Kjell and Herneiros see the sailors on the Odyssey flashing flags to the sailors on their ship. The captain came by. “Everyone who can’t fight belowdecks! It’s comin’ up!!” He grabbed a sailor next to them. “You tell Goddam Murray that the cannons stay plugged. They ain’t gonna hurt it anyway.”

“In a manner of speaking?” She shook her head and wagged her finger at him. “Qualifying your guess is against the rules. Besides, you are still wrong. And I will take my prize again.”
Juliette licked her lips and opened his shirt. She kissed his chest, and then, quick as anything, flicked the pen into her palm again and reached up to slice a curving shape just above his heart. If he was able to notice, through surprise and sudden pain, he would be able to tell that she knew just how hard to press to wound and maybe scar, but not to cause any real damage. If he thought about the shape of the cut, he might notice it resembled a J.

He winced in sudden pain as she jabbed in the pen. “What the...” he cried as he cocked his arm back as though to deliver a backhand to the lunatic’s cheek when he stopped In his track as he looked up to see people running hither and thither. What in the hell was going on.
“To arms!” He yelled as he shoved her back, his blood splattering her dress as he moved. He drew his blade from its sheath and held it up. “To arms!”

Juliette giggled as he failed to strike her, then ducked under his arm as he was distracted. She licked the wound luxuriously before stepping back, wiping her mouth on the back of her hand as she surveyed the scene before them.
“Hate to have to end the party early,” she said with a sigh, tone quite level and unbothered by anything going on around them. She patted his shoulder. “We can finish this later. I think I’ll get her sword, just in case.”

When she reached out to pat him condescendingly, he lashed out and snatched her by the throat with his free hand.
“Do not think you will get away with this so freely,” he snarled at her. And then he yanked her forward into him and kissed her hard upon the mouth, tasting steel on her tongue, his own blood.
He pushed her aside. “We will have words again Madwoman,” he said, wiping his mouth clean and he stalked off, hoping to bury his anger in a serpent’s hide.

For possibly the first time, Juliette was surprised. She didn’t have anything cutting to say as he let her go and stalked off. She just licked the remaining blood off her lips and looked pleased with herself. As she went to put Justine’s sword back on her belt, she was all but humming a little tune.

The captain nodded and pointed. Under the waves they could see a very odd purplish light. It seemed to go on forever under the dark waves, forming a circle that had to be a mile wide. The light pulses slowly, going from center to rim in a thirty second or so cycle. At times dark shapes blot sections out as they pass over it, but For now, at least, the Serpent and whatever it was guarding stayed several hundred feet below the surface. It’s a mesmerizing sight, all told, like a lightning storm beneath the sea.

Konrad felt like an idiot with a sword in his hand and quickly sheathed it, as it seemed it would do no good against such a beast.
“My gods,” he said. “Is there anything to be done but pray it does not take notice of us?”

Juliette peered into the depths, watching the lights radiate from the distant center. Mesmerizing. She wondered if it had blood or ink inside it...but even she wasn’t mad enough to dive in and find out. She looked back, toward the others on the ship, grinning crookedly when her gaze moved over Konrad.
“And what is the likelihood of it surfacing?” She built on Konrad’s statement, speaking loudly enough that her voice would carry to her erstwhile companions and the Tranquility’s captain, but not (she thought) overloud.
