She laughed softly and leaned close and ran her hand along his shoulder. "I think I'm going to need more than that. Are you not going to promise me the best night of my life? Or, at least, a thumping good time?"

“I mean, look at you, miss. You’ve probably had a lot of good nights. And knights for that matter. But thumping I can promise. I’ll make you sing a song you never thought of before,” he vowed.

Ceutinde turned to follow Kjell as she pulled back, ending up leaning back on the rail, still smiling. "Probably more than I should. Usually gets people to lower their guard. But I'd truly prefer you not suffocate under that remarkably well-sculpted torso." "You don't have to worry about that," she said, and handed Ceutinde the bottle. "Have a good night." She stepped away, pushing her hands in her pockets. Her cheeks felt a little warm, either from the whiskey or the day spent in the crow's nest. It was good whiskey. "Oh, and maybe get away from that railing. There's still things down there in the water."

Herneiros nodded. "I am something of an exorcist, if you ever want assistance or advice. No special charge. Just be careful... great dramatic revelations often come with headache and heartbreak."

"Is that so? I've sung a lot of songs," she teased, leaning closer than ever. "And some of them have been somewhat...raucous. I'm game, then, as long as there's rum on offer. Singing is thirsty work, sailor."

“I don’t have a great voice but I have some instruments I play like a master,” he assured her. “And I suppose I can spare a drop if it will quench your thirst and ignite your blood.” He snaked an arm around her

"It will," she said. "Rum invigorates me." She leaned into his arm and ran her hand back up his shoulder and down his torso. "What's your name, sailor? Please me well enough and I could make you a legend."

Her cheeks felt a little warm, either from the whiskey or the day spent in the crow's nest. It was good whiskey. "Oh, and maybe get away from that railing. There's still things down there in the water." She started just a bit, eyes darting back to the water, before trying to straighten up more casually and adjust her hair. "Yes. Right. Nighty night, Kjelly." Didn't seem like Silvia was missing the whiskey, so she took one more sip before heading toward Herneiros and Justine. "Evening, shipmates. Everything all right?"

“Thank you again. Truly.” She squeezed Herneiros’ hands tightly in gratitude, only to quickly drop them as Ceutinde walked up.
“Hi again,” she said, forcing a smile to her troubled face. “Things are just fine...now.” She looked a little sheepish.

"We were talking about monsters. Speaking of which..." He stroked his beard. "I hear pirates roam these waters. I wonder if they are flamboyant as drinking songs would suggest."

"Good." She put a hand on Justine's arm with a concerned look. "I was a little worried."
"Pirates? Psh. We used to get them all the time. Usually decent customers, hardly any trouble. Though I suppose those would be the ones flush with cash."

“I’ve never met a pirate, that I know of.” Justine was grateful for the change of subject. Almost as grateful that both of these people, at least, accepted her in spite of her troubles. “I never spent much time near the sea. Anyway, after the serpent and the other sea life, I think pirates are the least of our worries.”
She laid her hand atop Ceutinde’s on her shoulder.

"It would certainly be a bit of a letdown to see all that and then be killed by perfectly mundane pirates." She said with a laugh. "But I was going to head below. Been quite the day. Come knock if you want that sleeping aid we discussed. First door on the left, down the stairs."

Justine sighed heavily, a small bit of relief coming to her again. “Thank you, Ceutinde. I think I’ll definitely need that tonight. I’ll follow you down. Goodnight, Herneiros. I’m sure you and I will speak again soon.”
