Seeing Nigel struggling Konrad sheathed his sword as well and hurried to grab one of the injured and help guide them down. “I’ve got a handle on His Majesty,” Nigel assured Konrad, patting the bleeding and poisoned master thief draped over his shoulder like a freshly slaughtered pig. “And our seven fingered friend can get down on her own. Go make your daddy proud, little Wolfhart, and take that hill!” He indicated his head to the wizards above them. “Be legendary!”

Silvia had promised to protect Ceutinde. She kept her word, remaining on the ship instead of running after Nigel and the others. After the elf went below, she turned to Justine.
"What a bloody mess this is. Ceutinde said they were after her. Do you know why?"

Damien shook with pain his hand moving to his wound and then flailing to Nigel to hold on. He was wailing in pain. “They fucking got me. I think this is it for Comte-in-exile Damien Chevalier. I think I see a light up ahead. Is that you father. It must be you. Only you ever looked so disappointed. Papa!” He flailed about as he called out. He went still and closed his eyes.

"What a bloody mess this is. Ceutinde said they were after her. Do you know why?" Justine took shelter as best she could in the doorway to the hold and tried to clean the damp powder from her gun. She glanced up as the Skylark came to speak with her and was grateful for the shelter when they spoke. She could understand so much more of her words here. “Probably on account of her wanting to free he prostitutes here. They’re basically kept mind controlled and enslaved.” She wiped out the inside of the gun with a black-stained rag. “Also she’s quite a prize. Think how much they could charge for a woman like her, you know? All of us, I think.” Her voice betrayed little fear.

Konrad scowled, but turned and drew his blade again. He saw that something had engaged the wizard, and so Tehol running towards it.
“For Wolfhaven” he cried as he assaulted the ramp seeking to target one of the wizards.
OOC: try to stab a wizard I’d the hydra doesn’t kill them all.

Nigel and Damien:
The knight errant takes the fallen count down the slippery ramp as the thief bleeds, thrashing in pain with every hard thump.
Nigel: 47 Damien: 84
They make it to the relatively flat and safe beach. The Tranquility is closest to them and being hammered by colossal waves, while they still can’t even see the Odyssey due to the incredible storm.
The Wiz kids:
Kjell -50 now: 78 Tehol: 147/122 Konrad: 97/162 Korabas: somehow missed all four times Grey cloak: casts Frozen Domain Grey cloak: basically gets Ides of March’d
Kjell ignores the pain and lines up a shot, but in the changing winds she has to adjust her aim on the fly and take care not to hit her charging companions. The shot goes wide right and the wizard she aimed at made a strange motion with his hands and the rainwater collecting on the rails freezes as the temperature drops enormously. Korabas slips on the frozen sheet and has to spread his weight out to stay out of the water. His released wizard is immediately slaughtered by Konrad and Tehol; the noble had said he only needed one alive and the beastmaster hadn’t heard him anyway. The second dark sorcerer headed back towards the cafe grounds and the quartet see in the fog behind him some pirates hurriedly pushing a cannon on wheels through the storm. If they get it to the top of the rock the fight will get a lot more equal as they’ll be able to attack the ships from above.

Recalling he has last seen their healer, Ceutinde, on the Odyssey, Nigel continues trudging down the beach and battling the storm with Damien on his shoulders.
“Don’t you die on me,” he ordered the bleeding thief. “That’d make for a piss poor story.”

So much for that. Kjell drank the rum or whatever the card players had given Damien and speed tied the bandage around her bleeding leg, then darted outside and up the hill to hack at the pirates.

The brandy burned like fire and Kjell slipped and skidded on the magical ice. The pirates all turn to look at the crazy elf lady and the other people rushing them. It’s gonna be a hurricane brawl!!

She had long known that women were often forced into prostitution by poverty, and she did what she could as Joanna to lighten to load of those women, but she had never considered the possibility that magical mind control might ever be a factor. "I'd sooner slit my own throat than be taken for such a purpose, and, believe me, I have every desire to live. Bloody bastards. Ugh! How can anyone do that to another person?" She sighed. "I never learned anything about how magic work - why bother, when I've no talent for it myself - but it seems to me that mind control is a wicked kind of sorcery. Well, for what it's worth, and the trouble it's caused, I say Ceutinde did the right thing. I might have offered the women some support myself, if we weren't on a pirate island, and I didn't even know about the magic until just now."

As the winds blow and the rain comes in ever harder sheets, Silvia and Justine see a few men and women pulling the broken ramp up with ropes to repair it. Captain Demeter watches them. “You all ever shot a cannon before?” She asked, shaking her head to get the rain out of her eyes.

Justine smiled a little. She had just recruited another for Ceutinde’s cause. “She’ll be glad to hear it, if we manage to make it through all this.” She gestured toward the pirates on the mainland as the captain came to them.
“I haven’t, but I’ll damn well try.” She put the arquebus back in its oiled case where it would be protected til she had need of it. “Show me where and I’ll do what I can.”

"I've never tried," Silva admitted. "I'll keep an eye out for trouble, while you do that. Unless you need me to do anything else?" She asked Demeter. She remembered that she still hadn't been able to ask Ceutinde about the scale. "Should we do something about the Tranquility?"
