“I mean, I’m not an apothecary,” she said. “And we are sort of far from an herbal supply store. If you needs more permanent solution we need to get you to the Academy and let my headmaster take care of you. Although...that elf healer on the Tranquility may be able to extend the duration of these salves properties, but I don’t know for sure.”

“Thank you,” she said earnestly. “What do I owe you?” She shuffled in her pockets and found, once again, two gold coins.

Elise just stared at the coins. “Nothing. Just don’t let some fucking boglop eat my brains and we will call it even, hm?”

“Deal. Thank you,” she said again, nodding, and left with the bottle, nearly hitting her head against the doorframe on her way out.
She then went back to the Tranquility and, unable to find their medic (presumably), retreated to her cabin.

Ceutinde led Konrad and Justine back to the ships, starting to explain the situation in greater depth once they got close. "...so there are two of them in charge, Lamas and Elspeth. Seems like Elspeth's the real brains of the operation. She also definitely wants to fuck me, so that might come in handy. I don't know how many others they'll bring, but it sounded like there were maybe fifteen in the bar when I went there. Plus the mind-reader. I imagine some of those will need to stay to keep things in line."

Justine nodded as she listened. “Only 15? I think we can handle them. Maybe recruit one or two more...the gunner and perhaps one of the mages from the Odyssey. The mind reader is going to be the biggest challenge.” As they started up the gangplank, she paused. “I’d rather not kill the crocodile. I doubt it chose its life.”

"Tehol might want it. Or the doctor. Or...I don't know, are they native around here? Could we just set it free?"

“The Doctor would know that, I think. We will have to ask. I hope so, as it would be easier than hauling the thing aboard the ship.” She pondered on it. “I wonder if we would have to keep it sedated. That would be rather in humane” She didn’t like the idea of that at all. Even a terrible creature like that didn’t deserve wretched, drugged captivity. It was a sore subject for her.

“Leaving aside the health and welfare of the crocodile for a moment,” Konrad said. “I’m still not convinced that the moment we sail away all those poor girls won’t just end up enslaved again. We can’t stay here and defend the brothel after claiming it. And possession is 9/10th the law. Probably 10/10ths on Pirate Island.”

"That is absolutely a concern. But if we arm them, and help them get some more muscle to back them up...the bartender - a free one - told me her father's a captain. Surely that's worth something. And once they're set up, most of the clientele isn't going to care that the place is under new management."

“I must say, I know how to dispatch a villain, but I have no idea how to set up a new business or address long term security concerns.” They both had a point. Justine had quickly come to the conclusion that she was not the one to make decisions here.

As they talk, the winds begin blowing in from the northeast. The storm isn’t here yet but it won’t be too much longer.

“well, ultimately this is your decision,” Konrad told the Elf madam. “You talked to these people. I will help however I am able, as no one should be subjected to such awful slavery. But I think it folly to believe we can bring any real justice to this island for longer than a few days.”

Justine looked at the sky and the incoming clouds. "Looks like it'll be getting really rough soon. That Tejuani pretty woefully underestimated things by the look of those clouds." She looked between her two companions a bit nervously. "What do you say we find somewhere in town to wait it out and continue planning our next move?"

Ceutinde nodded as she glanced at the storm blowing in. "Good idea. Might be able to get some of the others on board - figuratively - too."
