"It seemed to activate against dragons from one of the towers. Nothing suggested that there is a similar lazer defense on the front door." He claims looking around, and stepping into the room to look around a bit better.

As he entered he could smell the musty chambers, looking forward the next room was clearly much larger; he can’t come close to seeing the back of it but he sees that the edge of the room is a staircase clinging to the walls and spiraling downward to the left and upward to the right, while the center of the room seems to be a platform suspended over what must be empty air below.

"Seems like the coast is clear, just a couple staircases going further into the building." He calls back to the group.

It is as though had summoned it himself. As his voice echoes across the chambers he heard the sound of a metal door opening down below and a scratching sound, still distant but clearly audible. Elise just shook her head.

“Thalia looked at tehol and rolled her eyes, this is why they should think every doing things, “does anyone have any torches? Using magic in there might set other things off, magic can respond to magic after all,”

Zavier dropped his pack and then pulled out a torch. A few more are poking out of it. He whispered something and it ignited. “I assume everyone has a few...right?” He peered in the chamber. “Not the best introduction we could have had.”

“Are you making a comment about it or to it?” She asked, you never really knew with Xavier.

He blinked twice then took her meaning. “About it,” he clarified. “I don’t think this facility is particularly chatty.” The distant noises were interrupted by a piercing scream, like something out of a nightmare.

Justine shivered at the sound as though it had been wrenched from her very soul. It brought back haunting memories.
Juliette’s lip curled. She despised weakness. “What are you all waiting for? There’s only one way to go, forward.” She dug our one of the torches and lit it from Zavier’s as she followed Tehol in.

Thalia watched after Juliette went in and followed her after taking her own torch, no one ever seemed to stop and think here, she tried to tell if the scream was from anyone in their party.

Ceutinde shrugged and followed, hoping the scream didn't come from one of their own. And wouldn't want to let Justine's body get damaged for when she got back.

The scream was nothing human, a keening that would hurt the ears at closer range. Juliette, Thalia, Elise and Zavier follow behind Tehol and the firelight reveals more details of the massive central chamber. The floor is covered with a fresco depicting unfamiliar constellations and the wizards get a strong sense of spirit magic, necromancy and abjuration. As they head farther into the chamber there’s a sudden creaking sound and far, far overhead the ceiling opens at what would be the top of the ziggurat and the sun shines brightly down to the art on the floor, mirrors on the walls of the narrow opening directing the glare downward and focusing it into a bright beam. As the fresco is illuminated by the sun the little stars begin glowing as well and for hundreds of feet below the party can see that some spell has been activated to brighten the entire structure.

Silver arrived at the open door and peered inside. She hadn't left the other room just to go back again like a failure. She stepped inside "Thalia! Elise! Hello!"

Silvia has no issue seeing everyone inside now that the interior is lit like a Christmas tree on acid. Elise waves her over. “You have to see this!” She called back to her.

Relieved that the others hadn't got too far in, Silvia headed further in, as quickly as she could whilst also being careful. She paused a few times to look at the fresco on the floor in awe. It was hard to tear her eyes away but she managed to do so. and approached Elise.
"It's magnificent," she said.
