Ceutinde's curiosity - and concern with whatever might be coming toward them - drove her into the vault with the others. She glanced over the bookshelf for any rare titles that might be of interest, before peering over Nigel's shoulder into the chest he'd opened. She grabbed one of the medicine-looking jars and attempted to deduce what was inside.

The potion has settled into its constituent parts over the centuries. She can sense at one point it was some sort of healing potion but whether it is still effective isn’t something she’d bet her shirt on back home.

"Some variety of healing potion, I think. Or was, anyway." Ceutinde told Nigel, tucking it in her bag to investigate more thoroughly later. "I'll want to have a look before anyone goes tasting it, though." She returned to the bookshelf, perusing the titles in a bit more detail, eyes open for anything that might give a hint as to what this place was really for.

Nigel began hurriedly opening the remaining purple boxes and the small oven like an impatient child on Christmas before tossing whatever baubles and artifacts that would fit into the loot sack. Time was of the essence.

Of the six boxes, four contain eggs, while the sixth that Nigel opens has another snow globe, this one with an eight sided castle inside it. The water sloshed as he put it inside his pack and the little snow flakes glowed silvery with magic. When Nigel opens the oven he sees it has a small black diamond inside it and ash lining the insides. Something secured it to the floor as it refused to budge.
Zavier collected the eggs in his own pack. Ceutinde finds a couple books but all are in another language she has never seen, except one that seems to be directions for some sort of spell to make objects enter permanent stasis.

Nigel likewise tosses the black diamond into the loot sack.
“Mighty Thornhearts, move out” he barked, making his way up the stairs, their objective complete and booty in hand.

Ceutinde kept the book she could actually read - permanent stasis sounded like a useful thing. She left the remainder on the shelves, just hoping that they would get a chance to come back for them, and shrugged and followed Nigel out.

Thalia frowned, looking over the interior, thinking there had to be something more here, some coke to what this place was and what happened here.

Unlike Ceutinde, Thalia has a more classical education, and she can read pieces of the books. She sees in the dead script that this was a temple or house of worship or the like, dedicated to the god Estos. She only has a few minutes to read given the ticking clock before the place is destroyed, but from what she can gather at first glance this was a Mist production site centuries ago, dedicated to the extermination of ‘native species’.

Thalia frowned bit took the rest of the books, thinking they’d be more valuable and hopefully she could decipher more later, “we need to find Silvia had the other one, yes?”

Herneiros approaches Thalia. "Yes. But did you learn anything useful?"

“Centuries ago, this site was made to create the mist, to destroy the native species, why I do not know, I’d need to research more.” She explained to him, thinking this could have waited, “shall we go and help the, or just leave?”

Herneiros nodded slowly. "I thought as much... we need to leave anyways to reach them. I'll stay close until then."

“Why don’t we all go, to make the chances of us coming back greater?” Thalia asked, walking towards the entrance again after nigel, keeping the books safe and close.

As the group heads up and out, they heard the sound of monstrous footsteps and growls below. The beasts were fighting each other in their mad attempt at escape from centuries of torment. Madness has completely overtaken them. As they head out the entrance at top speed they hear the flutter of colossal wings and a great bat like creature erupts from the dark bowels of the pit and locks onto them. It screams an ultrasound like screech and charges.
